Lots of cars today have a port that allows you to hook up your Ipad into your speakers. You can get a cable at Radio Shack and you're ready to go. We listened to audio books while on our bucket list trip last summer.
Gipper, my car is 7 years old and doesn't have a port to attach to and I am to cheap to get another radio, at least right now. I have been listening to books on audio for years but am starting to run out of stuff at my library. Some of these old books look interesting to me and I am going to try a few of them and see if they work out. I may investigate the radio. But thanks. Hey Gipper I am kind of forgetful, where all did you go on your bucket trip?
Bill our trip summary was as follows Final stats 5632 miles 224 gallons of gas 12 states and 2 Canadian provinces
Sounds a lot like the trip we took out west a few years ago. What kind of places did you visit? Ours was mostly the Rocky Mountains, then last summer we went to Maine for a month. We did listen to a lot of audio books on both trips.
Chicago area, Taliesen, Mt Rushmore, Custer Battlefield, Great Falls, Calgary, Banff, Coeur d'Alene, Yellowstone, Jackson, Cheyenne, Lincoln, St. Louis, Indy.
This site has free audio books for the old books. The quality seems to be pretty good for the readers. I just downloaded Bram Stokers Dracula among a ton of others to carry around in my IPod, not IPad but I have a Classic IPod that holds 120 GB. I've had it several years and haven't used it that much, but that is about to change. Also Terry I am pretty sure I am going to change my radio out for one of those with a USB port. Between the IPod, Cell Phone and GPS I think it might be worthwhile. Here's a link. Books Should Be Free
