Ok since everyone here is family at least since 1999 in my case why not share my thoughts and beliefs on one issue.

I recently turned fifty and evidently I pick a lot of peas because I'm rural and ignorant because of my location, wow and I thought a college degree was worthy of something, Go figure. My decisions in life are based on life in general taught from life's experiences, both the ups and downs, education and biblical principles taught to me since childhood, in hindsight the most wise and peaceful people I have ever met. Men and woman who only cared for your eternal salvation and not the many sins we each walk in on a daily basis....For those of you who do not believe in an eternal God please move on from this post because it is based on faith in a living God.

If we profess a belief in God, his son our Lord and savior and his word as the inspired word from the Holy Spirit doesn't Sodom and Gomora come to mind as we are deluged on a daily basis with same sex couples. Remember Romans 1:26-28

    "Romans 1:26-28

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. Romans 1:27

In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done.

    Or Genesis 19:4-5

4 Before they had gone to bed, all the men from every part of the city of Sodom—both young and old—surrounded the house. 5 They called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us so that we can have sex with them.”

I'm sorry and apologize to all offended but every time I hear of same sex couples I hear these bible versus from my childhood. I also remember a sermon that described sin as shooting at a plate glass window, you can use a cannon or BB gun either way the glass will crack and break so don't judge because it's all sin and we have no room for judgement.

I am NOT part of the generation who does not care what sex you are hooking up with, sorry I am constrained by the word of God in this, no judgement from my part because sin is sin and I do my fair share. Just don't ask me to accept it until a higher source proves what I was taught is incorrect.

So then we cross the fundamental intersection of Constitution vs Bible... only one is for everyone.

And kinda back on the larger point, did anyone see Obama's press conference today?

I saw it... I equate it to a 5 year old that was caught doing something wrong and sent to his room for a time out. He no longer has his "Amen corner" to rubber stamp his desires!

FWIW, the three best things - other than the obvious - that I see coming out of this election are:

-Harry Reid has been castrated and sent to pasture. He's angry and divisive. He shows no respect at all for the opposition. I don't know what kind of majority leader Mitch McConnell will turn out to be, but initial indications are that he has more tact in his thumb than Reid has in his entire body.

-The far wings on both sides of the spectrum have been neutered, at least for the time being. IMO elections ultimately are determined by the middle-right to the middle-left. The arrogant, angry far left no longer has the floor and already has resorted to name-calling, attempted character assassination, and general whining. The far right (aka Tea Party), with "only" 35-40 headstrong, stubborn, uncompromising members of the House, no longer can hold the majority party hostage, hence opening the door for true progress in getting things done.

-The strength of our democracy once again has shown through. A president and party who had us moving toward socialism has been checked. The voters have spoken and have been heard. God bless the USA!

    Tom,

The moment he refused to label his 6 year defeat, despite multiple opportunities to do so, really pissed me off. I have no idea why it did, or what I expected. It's something Clinton did. It's something Bush did. Hell, it's something all of them did. Instead, he pretended it never happened and then suggested that if the GOP leadership brings him things he already champions, then they can work together.

This guy is, quite possibly, the worst US President of my life time, and I'm getting old now :)

    Sid,

Agreed on all counts, however, I do not believe the far right of the GOP sees it that way. In fact, they see it as a ringing endorsement for their platform. That's kinda what I'm trying to warn against here. and that's not the reality as most all of the major upsets were achieved by people running a mid-stream platform in which they simply adopted/stole their opponents talking points. There was a moment on CNN when the lesbian chick with the lap dog on her head (I really don't know her name) was pointing out that 1) The young and minority vote stayed home and 2) These guys stole our issues in the big upsets. I was glad to see the guy on CNN (young black guy) remind her that the GOP simply did what Clinton did and really every great politician does...

Perhaps, but as I recall - I'm not a close follower of national politics - in most of the Republican primaries in the spring, the Tea Party candidates were defeated. I respect the Tea Party and what it stands for, but this election, including the the preceding primaries, has established the Tea Party as a fringe movement. Their voices still must be heard, but the Republican voters have determined that their overall agenda is divisive and unworkable. Otherwise, more of them would have been nominated at the primary level.

I can safely say, I've never felt like I do now.
I used to consider all candidates, and did vote for some Democrats back when there were a few who were conservative/moderate.
The Obama admin has changed my attitude completely.
I only want them gone - all of them.
I will not even consider a democrat anymore... they've toted the socialist line too far.

Maybe that's sad, but it's the corner I've been pushed into.

I think the Tea Party came at just the right time. The GOP had completely lost its way and its backbone.
