I would define moderate in the sense that a voter is not locked into a decision that the party (Democrat or Republican) defines as truth. An example would be my comment on the $400 billion dollar war machine. But it could be literally anything apart from the dogma associated with either party. Just my opinion...

I agree with Stu that most of us are moderate. It may not sound like it at times as each person argues a point on the board but in reality they are weighing the point and how it affects them from their perspective.

Interesting point about Charlie Christ and his vocal decision to vote for Obama. I have been working with our company attorney the last couple weeks on various items that are impacting our Agri-business. Charlie left government and went to work for Morgan & Morgan personal injury attorneys. If you spend any amount of time in Florida and turn the TV on you will see a Morgan & Morgan commercial about every 30 seconds. Our company attorney told me that he was offered a position with Morgan & Morgan but turned them down. It seems that John Morgan is the "largest" contributor to the Democratic party in the state of Florida. And if you work for him you "will" not only vote for a Democratic candidate but contribute as well. This is the reason that he turned down the position, he is a staunch Republican and for Dave he is also a staunch Bull Gator and bleeds Orange & Blue..

So going on hearsay in who Charlie Christ is employed with these days this does not surprise me as much knowing the relationship with Morgan & Morgan.. Supposedly both Bill Clinton and Obama have spent considerable time in John Morgans house over the years...

"To my view the "blank party" consider compromise to be giving then everything they want."

I put blank party in that quote because you're right.....both parties are guilty of that.

To me a moderate can see both sides and understand that real compromise is necessary on both sides for anything of real substance and benefit to get accomplished.

No one side is completely 110% right all the time.....but the far side of each party would have you believe that.

My interpretation of things is that the far right has continually crept over toward and captured the moderates in the party and doesn't allow for their moderate or compromising thought. Maybe the reason is that while there may be some liberal media ( i.e. Comedy Central ) I don't think mainstream news media like ABC News for instance just comes right out and sneers at....puts down......and/or openly criticizes the GOP whereas Fox News for instance makes no bones about it....they hate the left and spend every ounce of energy and air time letting you know it.
