I was at the Tribe-Tiger game on Fri. nite. One team was jacked and making their playoff run. The other, stripped of good players by trades was just playing out the season. Left after 6 (it was 59 degrees) and Cleveland up 10-0.

Tribe has been fun to watch. Understand that Detroit is now in full rebuild and is playing out the season...

Ramirez had 5 extra base hits yesterday. Tied MLB record (it's been done 13 times). He's now hit a home run from both sides of the plate 3 times this year (team record).

Tomlin came off the DL and pitched well...first start since July 30.

We recently had 9 players on the DL...and the young kids have just been stepping up.

11 wins in a row to go along with a previous 9 game winning streak.

Not quite the Dodgers magic, JO'Co (or Houston, Terry)...but fun to watch and kind of under most folk's radar.

Cleveland was the best team we saw earlier in the year. It was only a question of when they would catch fire and it looks like they've gone flammable at the right time...

Verlander is a great addition to the Astros. He's the guy you want to pitch in the seventh game of the playoffs. Class act all the way and Tiger fans will miss him.

He makes his first start tonight for the Astros in Seattle. I like the trade, it was much needed.

So the Red Sox have been caught cheating and verified by MLB. Using electronic devices at Fenway, including Apple watches, to steal signs from the catcher and relay to the hitter. The Yankees filed the protest and provided film footage of these amateurs trying to get an edge. They did against the Yankees and some other clubs.

Did them about as much good as paying a fortune for Chris Sale. Second rate bunch of hairy , sloppy bums.

Heard tonight that no team has ever averaged 10 strikeouts per game...

Indians go into tonight at 10.06 per game.

Astros right behind at 9.95...and now they have Verlander.

    :(

    The Great Collapse continues...

Dodger Stadium is like a tomb. You could hear a pin drop. Today's newspaper calls Kershaw "The Ace of Fades."

This is brutal. They've won one game in three weeks. All Roberts did was take his foot off the gas...

I was worried this might happen when you said that the Dodgers were resting guys and playing backups. Lose the big MO and sometimes it's tough to get back.

But most likely you guys will right the ship and finish just fine.

The Cleveland Indians are the hottest team in baseball. Someone asked Terry Francona if he had ever been on a team that had won 16 straight. He said his HS team finished the season 14-0, but they ran out of games.

Another loss. Today they rested Taylor. The lead over the Nationals is down to 5 games to keep home field advantage. The magic number is 12. Darvish was beaten again. He's been no help as I feared...

No way Francona takes HIS foot off the gas...

17 in a row for the Tribe, getting hot at the right time.

Astros lose a double header to Oakland one of the worst teams in the AL.

It appears that the Dodgers no longer have to concern themselves about setting a new single season record for wins. Man , talk about slumping at eactly the wrong time.... this team seemed invincible three weeks ago.

I'm liking Cleveland at this point.

A lot depends on injuries....Zimmer broke his hand sliding into first last night.

Rookies are really stepping up but would like to have Brantley and Andrew Miller back. Chisenholm just got back but looks rusty. Kipnis I think is back but also looks rusty.

Heard that during the first 17 games of the win streak the Tribe gave up 30 runs total while hitting 35 home runs. They didn't increase the spread last night...hit 2 homers but gave up 2 runs.

Also they outscored the opposition by 80 some runs during the 17 games...while there are only 8 teams in baseball that have outscored their opponents by that many runs for the whole season.

But maybe peaking too soon.

Astros swept by one of the worst teams in baseball. We had a little run going there for awhile, but the A's just hammered our pitching.

I like the Indians as well. In playoff sports it's the hot team at the end of the regular season that usually does well. Doesn't matter that you were great in April and May, how good were you in Sept.

Oh yeah I see that Judge got his 40th HR, has he turned the corner and is back hitting the ball? One of my Cardinal buddies said exactly what Krebs told us about the HR Derby, said one year Pujhols won it and was awful the 2nd half of the season.

Do the 2017 Dodgers look more and more like the 2000 Cardinals?

With Cleveland's win last night and the Astros' loss yesterday, the Indians now are in 1st place in the AL post-season seeding, a position once thought locked up by Houston.

Nationals are the 1st team in MLB to clinch a playoff spot by winning their Division. A month ago you'd have figured that to be the Dodgers and a month before that you'd have figured that to be the Astros.
