Did you happen to miss the six games against equivalent competition? At 3-3, it is not significantly different than the 4-3 record the SEC #2 has against other conference's #1. From this, it is obvious that your theory that the SEC's very average non-CG showing has nothing to do with "playing up" in competition. As was shown earlier, although the SEC has arguably had the best team in the country nine out of fifteen times, the rest of their conference, as judged by the rest of the BCS games, has been average at best. Their win percentage is lower than five of the other seven conferences that have played in BCS games., and significantly worse than the PAC. Over the last 15 years, how would you rank the six AQ conferences? You are on record as the SEC being the #1 top-to-bottom best throughout that time. You have also stated the ACC and BE were the fifth and sixth. You can't have it both ways, even though you keep trying to argue all three sides of it. I took this at face value and assumed you wanted to have a discussion about reality, not some farsical argument about feel-good SEC superiority, even if it is derived from an aquatic ceremony. You can't expect to wield supreme power just because some watery tart threw a sword at you! Actually parsing the data tells a completely different story from the one you keep putting out there. -.-
The SEC #2 is 5-4 in BCS Bowl games with most of those against other conference #1s plus Bama was the #2 when they beat LSU so there is 10 #2s playing in BCS Bowl games for the SEC. Of course at the same time the SEC #1 was pounding some other conference #1 for the national title. So the SEC was good enough to place two teams in the BCS in 10 of the BCS years but the PAC 12 ( #2s were 3-1 ) only 4 times had 2nd place teams make the BCS. I think the PAC 12 is a good league..... but what do those numbers tell you? Thanks for digging those numbers out WSU to better prove my point..
Last night I almost posted, 'Son, you messed up and got Kes posting the numbers now. You're in a death lock and don't even know it.' I didn't because I was being nice. The stadium lights are off. You're running around the wet grass wearing only a jock strap and a mouth piece playing in a football game for one at this point in time. You can't even admit you're human. There comes a point in time in debate when you just gotta hit the '**** it' switch and smile/nod at the nice man rocking back and forth ranting on about his magic kingdom. I'm just gonna be over here smiling/nodding now.
Corey, if you have noticed, I have been smiling and nodding for several weeks. My stress levels are at an all time low.
Good point. Those numbers tell me that the #2 team in the SEC probably shouldn't have been in those BCS games. Based on the comparison of win percentages of the SEC in those games to the other conferences, it would seem the #2 team in the PAC more often and/or the #1 team in the MWC and WAC (aka "lesser" conferences) deserved that slot over the SEC's #2.
