Some game last night. I really thought Notre Dame was going to do the impossible. Best game of the tournament so far.

B1g Ten will have both Wisconsin and Michigan State in the Final Four! That has to be a major surprise.

Everybody had Wisconsin of course... Probably nobody had MSU... but then you can never count out Izzo.

Well it looks like this will come down to the final score prediction as Don and Chris Ryckman both missed the East Region participant but got the other three regions correct. Both have Kentucky playing Duke ... whether or not those picks are both right or half right, it will come down to their prediction of the final four score.

Don has the game going 74-65 While Chris has it 84-82 ...

Tom has 3rd place locked up as he has a 4 point lead on Gator Bill and Trefrog and they all have the same picks so no ground can be made up or lost.

One thing that got buried in all the basketball news is that Tenn fired their Mens Basketball coach. Apparently he's got some NCAA problems that they didn't find out about till recently. Bruce Pearl, and now this. Vols can't catch a break.

BTW Pearl after sitting out did a very good job this past year at Auburn and seems to have them on the rise.

Rick Barnes replacement talk seems to be heating up, Marshall the WSU coach who was thought to be the front runner apparently is going to go with Alabma. Archie Miller just signed an extension with Dayton..... several candidates Krystowiak at Utah and of course Shaka Smart still out there...but the big whale for this hunt seems to be Brad Stevens. That would be quite a coup for them to lure him away from the Celtics, I wonder if he's tired of the NBA. Also some talk about John Lucas, that would be interesting.

Brad is brilliant when it comes to roundball! Look what he has done with Celtics. They should be in the cellar considering the junk they have this year!

Well according to ESPN sources, Tenn is going to hire Rick Barnes...that didn't take long.

You fail to mention Cuonzo Martin (disclaimer...Purdue related).

With all due respect to our friend Tom, whom I of course respect, and also to Tennessee which I actually do respect...he was treated horribly there IMO...after finishing fourth in the SEC and making the Sweet 16.

How many times does a coach get fired and his players express happiness...for the coaches good fortune?

Good story on Karl Anthony Towns, the Kentucky big man...a freshman who's going to be a high NBA Lottery pick.

All reports indicate that Shaka Smart will be the next Texas basketball coach. I didn't think we could lure him away from VCU, others have tried and he's declined. Texas is a lumbering giant, our HS basketball is really good in this state and if he can just keep the top talent in Texas he should have a team full of very good players who can compete on a national level and with Kansas. He's done a lot with a lot less at VCU, so lets see what he can do with the money, facilities and support he'll have at Texas.

We don't relly talk womens basketball or even have a contest. But FSU coach Sue Semrau was named AP coach of the year. I'm sure that she was deserving, and the runner up was the Princeton coach, also a deserving coach. 3 of the 4 Final 4 coaches also got votes, guess which one who is in her 5th straight final 4, who lost 3 Sr's off last years squad, two of them All-Americans received zero votes?

    Semrau-10
    Banghart-9
    Freese-4
    Geno-3
    Staley-3
    Bozella, Seton Hall-2
    Rueck, Oregon St. -2
    Schaeffer, Miss. St. -1
    Thorne, Ariz. St. - 1

I think Don is the winner via the Tie Breaker over Chris Ryckman, even though Chris picked more winnners 48 to 47 than Don. Tom finished 3rd.

    Congrats Don!

Not a single member picked Duke, it was either Kentucky or Virgina...with one guy picking Notre Dame.

Thanks Terry, but I am still not clear on how the final outcome is decided by Yahoo. Is it the closest score prediction or points difference between the final score? I could not find anything in the Help file

    Congratulations, Don!

    Sid,

That was my thought, but I could never find anything concrete on the Yahoo site.

First and only time this has ever come into play for me.

Lunardi's way too early 2016 Bracket has

Kentucky, UNC, Villanova and Virginia as the #1 seeds.

Michigan is a play in game, Purdue is a 4 seed, ND is a 5 seed, Indiana is a 2 seed. Wisconsin a 4 seed, Texas a 8 seed. I don't see Ohio State in the bracket, are you guys losing everybody this year?

Interesting, I'd forgotten that the Coaches do a Poll after the Tournament.

    1. Duke
    2. Wisconsin
    3. Kentucky
    4. Arizona
    5. Notre Dame.
