I will be bitter but I am also realistic that the Angels owner, faced with losing the legend to the free-market, will do whatever he can to stick it to the Dodgers. His trade for Giolito proved that to me.

Uh oh... Mets trade Max Scherzer to the Rangers. Certainly will make the Astros job of catching them even harder.

Astros will blow by the Rangers like a tumbleweed. Scherzer is over the hill and the Texas heat is once again taking its toll on the Rangers.

Yikes could it be true? Verlander back to Houston?

The Houston Astros have a deal in place to acquire ace Justin Verlander from the New York Mets, sources familiar with the agreement told ESPN's Jeff Passan on Tuesday.

Verlander returns to Houston, where he starred after arriving via trade from the Detroit Tigers in August 2017 until he entered free agency last fall.

Verlander, 40, has a 6-5 record and 3.15 ERA this season, including a 1.69 mark over his past six starts, in which he held batters to a .167 average and just one home run in 37⅓ innings. The three-time Cy Young Award winner earned his 250th career victory Sunday.

Should make the AL South race interesting down to the last regular season game.

Well Frambler Valdez must have been inspired by the return of his buddy Justin Verlander and threw a no hitter tonight vs Clevland. He was really on, only threw 93 pitches. Might have wanted to let Verlander know he weas the Ace now!!

I leaned last night from the broadcast crew that since the Astros (Colt 45's) inception in 1962 they have more no hitters than any team in baseball, 16 closest is the Dodgers at 13.

Was watching the game. 9 minute brawl. I don’t think they like each other very much.

Not a bad outing for Verlander yesterday. 7 innings and 2 runs, no support from the Astros offense.

Today was quite a game, Astros threw over 200 pitches today, 12 walks, the game took nearly 3 and 1/2 hour and included my first viewing of a pitch count violation that put a Yankee on base with a walk. But we prevailed 9-7 to gain a 2-2 split in the series.

Oh yeah Astros were at the White House for their Championship visit and there was no drama, no players refusing to go because they don't like Biden or stuff like that. It's an honor, and politics should be put to the side..
