I guess Mets fans have too much money and instead of spending it on hookers and blow, they will spend it on seats in the outfield at Citi Stadium New York announced Tuesday it will open a membership only speakeasy behind Citi Field's right-field fence this season called The Cadillac Club at Payson's, in honor of founding owner Joan Whitney Payson. Memberships in the first row cost $24,999 per seat, team spokeswoman Katie Agostin said.
Opening Day creeping closer and starters are all set in most instances. There will be 8 Cy Young Award winners on Opening Day. The Mets have 2 to pick from and Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander with Scherzer getting the nod. In Houston we will throw out Frambler Valdez.
Yankees open tomorrow against the Giants with nine players on the IL including two starting pitchers. Who knew spring training was so tough?
Astros will be with out, Altuve, Brantley and McCullers. Yordan Alvarez missed a lot of the Spring with a mysterious hand issue that also plagued him last season. Altuve though is the big one.
Can't have rabbit ears in baseball or any other sport. Stupid fans say stupid stuff thinking they are safe to say what ever they want with impunity. Still Rendon needs to just walk on by.
Oh and for 15K I can own one of a limited run of 200 replica's. I'm thinking of starting a GoFundMe page, I'm sure just with the skyboxers I can reach that goal!!
Ray's are off to a historic start....of course it's a long season so a couple of losing streaks along the way will negate it. Astros off to a some what slow start but nobody is running away with the division in the AL East so again, it's a long season. We need Hunter Brown to live up to expectations on the mound, he had a great outing his last start, need more of that. Also it will be nice if Lance McCullers Jr can get back and pitch up to his potential but for him I think he's probably never going to be able to have a full healthy season, all those curve balls are tough on an arm it seems.
Early returns are very good on speeding up the game with the pitchers and batters being on the clock. I think almost a 1/2 hour has come out of the game.
Astros sweep the Braves in Atlanta. All three were come from behind wins. Good sign that they are starting to find their game. It's a long season though, a marathon not a sprint as the saying goes.
If you like pitching and defense, the Dodgers and Cardinals are playing a dandy. If you like beer league softball scores, the Padres are playing in mile high Mexico City.
Well last night Astros starter Jose Urquidy couldn't finish his start because he developed a shoulder issue, today he went on the 15 day disabled list. Tonight after 8 pitches Louis Garcia lasted 8 pitches and was pulled due to elbow problems. This brings former ND starter Brandon Bielak into the roation. Pitching was going to be strength of this team in spite of losing Justin Verlander. We've yet to see Lance McCullers Jr and now 2 more starters go down. Yikes!
Same story with the Yankees, now entrenched in last place in the AL East. 14 players on the IL including their entire starting outfield, three of their starting pitchers and a host of relievers and utility players.
