Veteran Reds announcer Thom Brenneman was calling a game tonight at KC and did not realize he was on a hot mike when offering this description of KC

Guess it is Thom turn in the Cancel Culture barrel

He later left the booth mid game after calling out a home run in mid apology.

Well it will be interesting to see if his apology saves his job. I'll surprised if he doesn't at the very least get an unpaid vacation of a few weeks though.

Just out of curiosity, does KC have a large gay/LGBT population?

When reading an article about the incident this morning, it states it was unclear what city he referencing so my post identifying KC might be in error.

I would be surprised if he keeps his job. Years ago, a suspension and apology would have likely been the penalty imposed for his crass comment. But in this era of Twitter fueled public-morality policing, the SJW treat comments that run afoul of their sensibilities in a manner akin to the way medieval Calvinists dealt with those who spoke or acted contrary to the the laws they imposed in Geneva.

The new Puritans will demand he lose his livelihood for his transgression.

    For Krebs.;)

Altuve finished 3-for-4 in Saturday’s 13-2 loss. The six-time All-Star is 9 for his last 18 and clearly emerging from the nasty funk that ensnared him to start the season. During the last four games, he’s raised his batting average 55 points from .168 to .221. Altuve’s OPS has ballooned to .624. It was .517 when this road trip began.

Terry, we have Bellinger from LA on our team and it's similar story. His batting average was below .200 all season until the last week and he has raised it a similar amount.

Dodgers won last night on a Bellinger walk-off HR.

I know, he's been pretty strong the last week and a half. Have high hopes for him the rest of the year.

Fundamentally sound play. Molina did exactly the right thing by running straight at the base runners. The CF was alert to run to 2b. Otherwise, the DP wouldn't have happened. Cool!

True, but if Molina doesn't fake going after the runner going back to 1st base before coming back to second base then they don't get the DP. That fake made the guy on 2nd hesitate and it froze him just enough for Molina to make the throw.

You’re absolutely correct. Molina gave a Master clinic in how to handle a multi base runner rundown. The fake was critical to the play at 2b.

Bad baserunning by Ramirez...did y'all see the game ending double play last night in the 12th inning? Bad base running by guess who? Molina.

Question for Yankee fans....do the Yankee's have a trainer and a strength and conditioning staff? You guys seem to be the most injury prone team in baseball.

RIP Tom Seaver. He was a great pitcher, 300 game winner, a player I admired.

I have not watched them this year but from what I have read they currently have between 10-13 guys hurt. That is normal for them. If you saw them up close they look more like a football team than a baseball team. Very big and heavily muscled. I don't think that body type translates well to baseball. I think they would be nuts to offer Judge a big money long term contract. You simply cannot keep him on the field. They are already locked into Stanton and Hicks who are both injured all the time as well.

Dodgers have begun 30-10. This ties their greatest starts in 1888, 1955, and 1974.

RIP Lou Brock, a great player who terrified Tiger fans in 1968.

In a interview, Bob Gibson said we don't win a pennant, let alone a WS if Lou Brock isn't on those teams.
