Albert Pujols still tormenting the Astros....hit a grand slam today, Astros still win though in 11. For some reason I thought Big Al retired 10 years ago!
Pestilence?...is that like abstinence?....I mean they skipped the strip bar. Had to be a bad batch of brats and leinenkugles.
They need to throw them out of the NL or perhaps trade the Cards to the Korean league for one of their franchises.
It looks like baseball is going to go to the NHL model for the playoffs. I read the story about the Indians pitcher who is suspended for breaking protocol and going out with friends. I don't get it, how did he not know exactly what he was doing?
I am not watching or following the game for the first time in my lifetime and so far so good. My outrage at the politization and anti-cop sentiment of the teams has outweighed my longing for the game I love. But I spot checked some player stats on baseballreference.com and it appears that some of the more notable Astros are finding hitting more challenging this year than in recent years. Altuve and Springer come to mind....
Not watching but play Fantasy with my long term partner and keep up with statistics. Bellinger for the Dodgers was our first pick and he's batting .171 and doesn't show much signs of coming out of the slump. I am torn between boycotting and playing Fantasy with my long term partner of 29 years.
Slumps are slumps, great players have them. Altuve and Springer were great players/hitters before the 2017 season in question.
I saw a graph showing Atuve's strikeouts this year on breaking balls and it is a steep upward curve. That tells me that he was pretty sure what the next pitch was going to be in years gone by.
If you can believe it but the Cards have only played 8 games while everybody else is 18 to 22 games into the season
I think they go back to playing Tuesday with a lot of double headers in their future. Baseball is prepared for the possibility that not all teams will get in their games and will go by winning percentage if they have to.
The unwritten rules strike again!! Fernando Tatis swung on a 3-0 pitch with the Padres up 10-3 in the 8th inning..and hit a grand slam. Next guy up was dusted off in retaliation. I guess the Rangers were going to promise not to try and have a big rally in the top of the 9th to try and tie the game or win it.
