When I was growing up in middle Tennessee, brown bagging it just meant that your family could not spend the extra $$$ for a scoobie lunch box. I carried my lunch to school in a brown bag and was teased for being from a "have nots" family. Just made me tougher and gave me reason to beat the **** out of several from the "haves" camp. 8)

Tom, I'm guessing that 99.99% of the folks who have used that term in the past, including me, have absolutely no idea of the alleged double meaning. I agree with Ralph's reaction.....KMA!

    ‘Amnesia’ awakening

I’m a guy again! ABC newsman who switched genders wants to switch back

He thought he was a woman trapped in a man’s body — but it turns out he’s “just another boring straight guy.”

Report: Obama To Allow Thousands of Syrian Refugees Into America…
    [IMG]
    What could possibly go wrong?

    Via The Cable:

With conditions continuing to deteriorate in Syria, the Obama administration is making a major policy shift by agreeing for the first time to allow thousands of new Syrian refugees into the United States, The Cable has learned.

The numbers are relatively small: just 2,000 refugees, compared to an estimated two million people who have fled Syria during the civil war. But it’s a significant increase from the 90 or so Syrian refugees who have been permanently admitted to the U.S. in the last two years. And it’s not entirely uncontroversial. The refugees, mostly women and children, will be screened for terrorist ties — a process that could take a year or more to complete.

Unlike previous efforts by the Department of Homeland Security to give temporary protected status to Syrians already in the United States, the State Department effort will bring in Syrians from overseas for permanent resettlement in America.

“Referrals will come within the next four months. We will need to interview people and perform security and medical checks,” Kelly Clements, the State Department’s deputy assistant secretary for Population, Refugees, and Migration, tells The Cable.

we're now arming AlQaeda in that conflict and now we want to take the refugees from that conflict on American soil who will surely have a small bone to pick with the US for their allegiance in all this. You're right.. what could go wrong?

Obama Regime Allowing Illegal Immigrants To Enter The U.S. If They Use Special “Key Words And Phrases”…

Shockingly, the phrase isn’t “I’ll vote Democrat.”

SAN DIEGO - A loophole is allowing hundreds of immigrants across the Mexico border in to the United States.

Immigrants are being taught to use “key words and phrases” to be allowed to enter and stay in the country.
    http://www.myfoxphoenix.com/story/23101374/2013/08/10/loophole-people-being-told-to-use-key-words-to-cross-border
Just this past Monday, Border Patrol agents say about 200 people came through the Otay Crossing claiming a quote: “credible fear” of the drug cartels.

So many were doing this that they had to close down the processing center and move the overflow by vans to another station.

“They are being told if they come across the border, when they come up to the border and they say certain words, they will be allowed into the country,” said a person who did not want to be identified on camera. “We are being overwhelmed.”

Pete Nunez, former U.S. Attorney and immigration expert says, “This will swamp the system.”

“To make our system even more ridiculous than it has been in the past,” he adds. “There are no detention facilities for families, so the family would have to be split up. We don’t want to split families up, so we end up releasing people out into the community on bond, on bail.”

Nunez says, “It’s a huge loophole.”

Immigrants are telling the Port Enforcement Team — or P.E.T. — that the cartels are ripping apart their state.

After Grueling Vacation Schedule, Obama To Get Back To Fighting For The Middle Class By Meeting With The 1972 Miami Dolphins…
    [IMG]
It’s almost like he’s trying to avoid working.

    Via NRO’s Jim Geraghty:

Absolutely brutal schedule for the president upon his return from his vacation on Martha’s Vineyard:

“The Miami Dolphins team that achieved the only perfect season in NFL history will be honored by the White House next Tuesday, more than 40 years after its accomplishment.

President Obama will welcome the 1972 Dolphins for the first White House ceremony honoring the only team to go 17-0. Pro Football Hall of Fame coach Don Shula plans to accompany players from the team to the event.”

Huh? It’s an event that was 41 years ago, not even an anniversary year. The president isn’t hunting for votes in South Florida. He’s not even a Dolphins fan. Just why is the president doing this?

Feds: Americans Selling Their Food Stamps For Cash Has Jumped By 30%…

    Surprise!

    Via Fox News:

The percentage of Americans selling their food stamps back to stores for cash has increased by 30 percent over the past several years, according to a new Agriculture Department study.

The study on food stamps trafficking — which the agency said included “covert investigation” in stores — compared the periods of 2006 -2008 to 2009 -2011.

Despite the increase, trafficking has declined since the 1990s, when the rate was nearly 4 percent of food stamps, also known as Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Programs benefits.

The total amount of SNAP benefits is now at roughly $858 million, compared to $330 million annually in the 2006-2008 period.

The increase reflects the overall growth in SNAP participation and benefits, the agency said in the August 2013 report.

Recipients typically sell back their benefits at a discount, according to the agency, which said its undercover investigations and research into electronic SNAP transactions focused on stores that showed “suspicious activities.”
