The Big 10 is much like the SEC when it comes to divisional unbalance. Their East Division has OSU, MSU, M and Penn. St. It appears to me that it will be much stronger in the next few years than the West Division.

I agree the Big Ten East is very loaded compared to the West.

AJ what I am saying is that Nebraska has a ways to go to field a team capable of beating those beasts in the East.

Like you say.... win the West first then you can worry about beating the East although your schedule includes some of those east teams along the way.

Apparently the guys at ESPN feel pretty strongly about the Big 10 as well although they might just love the Big 12 even more:

OSU at #2 and MSU at #6 with Ga #8 and Bama #10.

Perfect fit? You guys spent a long time being a perfect fit in the Big 8, add some Texas teams and suddenly it's not a perfect fit? I think you guys made a mistake, but then what do I know.

Terry.... the Big 12 or 8 used to consist of Nebraska and OU and pretty much no one else.

The Huskers annually mopped up their competition challenged only by an occasionally tough Colorado and the season ending game with OU.

It was a schedule made for success..... sort of like what Penn State used to experience as an independent.

Now both Neb and PSU find a Big 10 conference schedule full of pitfalls and possible losses and it doesn't appear to be getting any better.

It's time for those two programs to "Buck" up.... so to speak.

No Doc....add 1 Texas team...after they (choose your words carefully AJ)...disrupted the SWC, and then decided to do the same in the 12.

    That's old news though...moving on.

AJ.... not trying to pick at you here.... just pointing out that things are different these days for the Huskers.

In 1993 for example Nebraska played for a possible National Title vs. FSU in the Orange Bowl and the regular season schedule had only two ranked teams on it..... #20 OU and #16 Colorado.

I just think the Big 10 slate has proven to be a bit more challenging than the Nebraska glory days even considering lately when the Big 10 was down and especially so now that the Big 10 schedule seems pretty damned difficult in 2015.

Also choosing words very carefully...in fact I won't even use words...but I think I know why Neb left the B12 1-9. :) Reverse them and I think we still see Neb in the B12.

    ********.

B1G and the B1G schedule are just a thin layer of the onion.

Nebraska lost it's identity when Dr. Tom retired, and Uncle Frankie started playing checkers.

Callahan really fugged it up, and Turns out poor Bo was just an uptight pric.

Pelini's firing is just as much doing from high level boosters and fan input as it was the AD's.

Nebraska is a brand. Less popular brand, but still a viable brand. If Riley is 1/2 the coach that peers, media, and former assistants say he is, and if he embraces the brand, unlike the last 2 have, then we'll be fine.

A Top 10 brand as a matter of fact....still after 17 years of mediocrity.

That's not bad for a has been....can't wait to see what happens next.

The competition on the shelf has stiffened..... for not just Nebraska but for all of the old school powers of yesteryear.....

USC, OU, Texas, ND, Michigan.... and so on....

The patent has expired and those generics are sprouting up all over the place.... TCU? Baylor?
