I won't be completely shocked if he takes a year off and then listens to offers from other programs to return to coaching. Mack Brown recently said he missed coaching and that if the right job became available that he would consider returning to the sideline.

Like Urban Meyer, I doubt if he would take just any job. It would have to be a major job where the fan base was there, the facilities were there, a tradition of winning was there, and there was a recruiting base.

Don, that would be another strange occurrence. I'm pretty sure he would not appreciate working for Saban.

Can't be a top 25 team without recruiting. Here is the Rivals top 10 as of today.

Miami and Mark Richt are having great year on the recruiting trail. It's still early of course and some of these kids will flip as I've seen a couple recently at Notre Dame and one at Texas. Still surprising to see Alabama not in the top 10, long way to go and I will be shocked if they don't end up in the top 10 or the top 5.

yeah, Alabama only has 4 or 5 commitments, and we usually have many more. I think Saban said we were going to sign 21 or 22 this year so for all of those keeping score this may be the year to take the national championship of recruiting from Alabama. It is early and like I've said before, be careful, these 18 year olds will break your heart if you are not careful. 8)

Well it's officially official...Malik Zaire is a Gator.

If Dave is a typical Gator fan, they are not excited.

I'm not "excited" per se.... as Zaire doesn't offer the promise of immediate stardom like say.... signing up Emmitt Smith was back when he was a true freshman recruit or the pure anticipation created by wresting Tim Tebow away from Alabama when he came out of high school.

That said... he can't help but add some depth at the Qb position.

If he can fit in with his role and not upset team chemistry it should be a big plus.
