Did you read the whole article, or just the headline the Dallas Morning Fishwrap chose to use?

It was a mostly supportive stance from the AD.
He did NOT say we have to win the SEC, or even the West or Kevin is gone.
Looking at our 2017 QB situation, that would be moronic to expect.
We need to be in the fight though... We can't be 6-0 and then drop 5 games unless there are very heavy circumstances.
I don't think the seat is any hotter than normal. After this season (If things go badly)... that will change.

I think UF-FSU is very intense.... just not normally violently intense like sometimes Aub-Bama can be.

I agree also there have been a few times.... mostly on the UF side when they are playing in Atlanta the week after that UF has seemed to go in the tank in second half.... just sort of losing that intensity while FSU never let's up when they have a chance to smack the Gators.

Malik Zaire.... I guess it's good to have Qb depth but he will have to be very exceptional for UF coaches to screw up what they have been working on for a year with Franks and team chemistry.

Terry, Auburn can move to the East if they want to but we need to keep the Auburn/Alabama game right where it is. If Auburn weasels out of that, then I don't care if we ever play again. :x

I've long held that Auburn belongs in the East and especially more so after the expansion. Missouri does not belong in the East. Auburn has the Iron Bowl, but their other big rivals are really more East division teams. Their #2 rival is Georgia. They have a series of heart stopping thrillers with Florida. I think Auburn to the East makes a lot of sense.

The reason that Auburn is in the West is so that Alabama plays both Auburn and Tennessee every year.

Personally I want Auburn in the East and want to play them every year.

But I don't see it happening because of the Alabama Tennessee game I mentioned above.

This is one of the reason's I don't care for expansion of conferences. I have nothing against Texas A&M or Missouri. They are great schools but with the exception of A&M and Arkansas (another expansion) they have no ties or real history with the rest of the conference. Yes they bring value to the SEC but at what cost? Now, Auburn is probably trying to get out of the West because it is the stronger division, but that will change eventually. I have a feeling that there end game is to not to have to play Alabama every year. The last expansion took in A&M and Mizzou. They couldn't both go to the west so Missouri was chosen to be put in the East. How can they ever develop any real interest when they are a 1000 miles from some of their "rivals"? The SEC was doing just fine before this expansion. They are doing well now also but what will be the long term effects? :x

Well it looks like it's pretty much a done deal, Malik Zaire has told ESPN and other media outlets that he'd going to UF as a graduate transfer. McElwain must not think Felipe Franks was clearly the guy to lead the Gators next season, other wise why bring in Zaire.

Zaire coming in more concerns me than elates me.

Is that what the majority of Gator fans think?

I know you have Franks and Del Rio and the Houston area kid who never even was the starter at his HIgh School. Is Del Rio fully healthy now? If Del Rio isn't 100% maybe McElwain feels that he has to have another QB who is 100% healthy and has experience.

You'll hear some negatives and question marks, like he doesn't have a great deal of game experience, but trust me, the kid is a special talent. He's a play maker with a solid arm. He has far more talent and ability than the Purdue transfer who started for you last year. If he can reach the same level he did when he started at ND, you'll be glad you have him. I hope he does well.

Many Gator fans were hoping Franks was the answer..... would settle things out and true Feshmen Kadarious Toney could provide that change of pace.

I cannot imagine that Zaire will come in thinking he's the depth.... the back-up.

Agreed, JC's and graduate transfers are usually given a scholarship to start right away.

IMO that's a very reasonable assessment.

I'm only a $$$ bill (I paid enough into the college to be considered a fan) Gator fan but one can hope they can eventually find a QB to work in this system....

Running for your life and throwing passes with a hope and a prayer don't win many SEC championships, not as long as Nick Saban is coaching Bama.

It's been long enough to where the offense needs to carry the defense for a change...

Bob Stoops retired at OU. He's only 56, but he's been there a long time. I wonder if like Urban Meyer he'll take a year off and then come back if the right job opens up for him.

Left OU in a bad spot, only thing they could do was elevate an assistant like Lincoln Riley. I wonder if he'll be given the HC title or Interim HC title?

Texas fans licking their chops at OU verbals! :)

You have to wonder if Stoops knows something is coming that would not be so good for the program?...

    From reddit:

Friendly reminder that Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops saw the video, and decided to keep Mixon on the team. Friendly reminder that Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops somehow knew nothing about Dede Westbrook allegedly "throwing the mother of his two children to the ground in 2012 and biting the same woman's arm and punching her with a closed fist in 2013, according to police reports."

Friendly reminder that Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops let Dorial Green-Beckham on the team after DGB got kicked out of Missouri for two marijuana arrests and then allegedly pushing a female Missouri student down 4 flights of stairs and had a felony warrant for first degree burglary.

Friendly reminder that Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops let Frank Shannon back on the team after a Title IX investigation ended with him suspended for a year for sexual assault (he would have been expelled had the investigatory panel's recommendation not been overturned by OU's VP for student affairs).

Friendly reminder that Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops let Justin Chaisson on the team after he kidnapped his girlfriend and threatened to kill her with a screwdriver.

Friendly reminder that Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops allowed Josh Jarboe on the team after his two felony gun charges were pleaded down to misdemeanors. However, Jarboe eventually was dismissed from the team after a YouTube video of him rapping about shooting people surfaced on the Internet.

Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops, ladies and gentlemen.

The timing of this announcement is strange. Why wait until June?
