Really impressive person. Handled all the Democrats accusations with poise, intelligent answers and facts. She is going to make a great Supreme Court Justice. https://nypost.com/2020/10/13/democrats-cant-kavanaugh-unflappable-amy-coney-barrett-goodwin/
Well they voted on her and she's going to be voted on in the full Senate on Monday for confirmation. The democrats failed to show up at the Judiciary Committee hearing where they voted, they were in the minority so it didn't matter I guess. She will be a great Justice and a credit to the Supreme Court. I don't think the Democrats can stop her from being confirmed on Monday.
The talk about expanding the Court will now increase and there will be tremendous pressure on Biden to get behind this and push it through so they can add more court members to tip it back to their favor.
They were the ones who politicized Justice selection (Bork) They were the ones who used the nuclear option to end the filibuster for judicial appointments. The screw up every political custom and tradition we have.
Barrett will be voted on today and quickly sworn in and take her place on the Court. She'll be an outstanding Justice.
Biden threw out the idea that "serious Constitutional scholars" support the idea of rotating Justices through lower courts, but he also said that he certainly doesn't support ending the lifetime appointment of those Supreme Court Justices. The message from the Left continues to be that Trump and McConnell tore up the Constitution by nominating, then confirming ACB. Except that it is exactly what the Constitution proscribes.
I'm sending this letter to the student newspaper Amy Coney Barrett has now taken her seat as a Justice on the United States Supreme Court. Her confirmation was inevitable given her qualifications, knowledge of the law, judicial temperament, and an endearing personality. Unfortunately, some of the faculty at the University of Notre Dame were unable to quell the political rage that compelled them to publish a pointless letter. In the future it is hoped that the school will be able to employ educators that have discretion and respect for the reputation of Our Lady’s University. Not only is our Dome golden, sometimes silence is too.
I am not an alumni but a devoted fan and admirer of The University of Notre Dame who finds myself once again dismayed at their political antics. They had over 100 professors sign a letter opposing one of their own.
100 professors...that is a pretty small % of the faculty and I believe no member of the Law School faculty signed it. Also being reported that the Faculty Senate is going to meet this week and likely vote to censure/no confidence Father Jenkins over his not wearing a mask when at the Rose Garden ceremony.
