I think we all remember the rumors that Lou was leaving for the Vikings, based mainly on 2 factors 1) he was friends with the owner 2) they needed a coach.
Terry, I had forgotten that. Your post jogged my memory. One thing Lou talks about with great regret is the short time he spent as the Jets' coach. He speaks very humbly about the mistakes he made in taking the job and not having a plan.
Let's face it, if your coach is being wooed by NFL teams it's because they think he's worthy of being considered. Who wants a coach that the pros have no interest in?
ND <t>Schmidt was voted MVP which I couldn't agree more with. The defense really went to hell went he went down. I know we had other losses on the defensive line but I truly believe he would have made a big difference for us in the last four games.</t>
ND <r>Oh by the way, let's not forget Schmidt was just a walk-on <E></E> <E></E> <E></E><br/> <br/> I wish we had about 20 or so more walk-ons like him.</r>
Just saw a group photo of about 20 players from the awards banquet. They look like survivors from a plane crash. Walking casts, crutches and slings.
