Ralph, I believe the article I posted is pretty accurate. I would be surprised if FSU gets an invite. As to something you posted before if FSU would come into the SEC would we start playing Miami again. Personally I think that if we pick up two more teams we would move to a nine game SEC schedule so I doubt that Miami would become a reality.
I agree Bill, as far as Miami playing UF on a yearly basis I'm just having a little fun since it seems to be a topic that never ends... The tradition of playing each other every year has been outgrown by the demands of conference play. The truth is the State teams really do not need each other as much as they did 50 to 75 years ago in this new era of college football.
Where did you get that? The report just came out that there was no action taken in today's meeting of SEC presidents. It didn't say, that I heard, a refusal to accept aTm.
Terry, I think the door is still open. Here's an interesting article concerning ESPN's involvement in all this. ESPN Complicating The Aggies Move?
Very interesting Bill, but I have to wonder how it all got to this point before somebody said ...whoa we've got problems lets all back off?
The deal is not off... but some school who shall remain nameless has threatened lawsuits, so we have to do this by the numbers. We must resign the XII first... then apply to the SEC before they can do anything. That protects them. The A&M BOR is still meeting tomorrow. Do you really think they'd do that if there was nothing to discuss. Anything can happen, but my bet is still on us leaving. At this point I don't care where we go, we just want OUT.
Lots of animosity on Texas sites, most don't want to play you guys anymore in football if you go to the SEC.
I somehow think that if the Aggies came to the SEC they could live without Texas. This article pretty much says the same thing about Texas A & M needing to apply first. My personal opinion is that it happens. SEC Won't Accept Someone Unless They Have Applied
The last line of that article was essentially what I got from the audio feed from ESPN. The SEC is not ruling it out. There was simply no vote yesterday.
Terry, I can assure you most of my friends have ZERO interest in playing you guys again... at ANYTHING. Goodbye, and Good riddance.
