Maybe switch pitchers are the wave of the future. Interesting comment about being able to switch arms and pitch some more.
Corey made a good point that these guys might have 2 arms, but they only i have 1 back...so the idea that they can go twice as long might not be realistic.

Astros like the Indians used some late round picks on kids of former players, Connor Biggio was drafted. He's a Jr. at Notre Dame and hit around .250 last year. Also drafted one of Roger Clemens kids who will graduated from my old HS here in Houston last week. He's likely to go to Texas rather than sign a MLB contract...esp a 35th round one. Biggio's son is also likely to come back to Notre Dame to finish his degree and play his Sr. year.

Just thought I'd toss this in for grins...

Things you didn't know about Ralph Branca...assuming you know who he is!

On Opening Day 1947, which was also Jackie Robinson’s Major League debut, Branca lined up on the field beside Robinson, while other players refused.[7]

Branca was only the second player in MLB history to be ejected from a World Series (and the first who was not actually in the game at the time), in the eighth inning of Game 7 of the 1952 World Series vs. the Yankees. He was ejected from the dugout, by home plate umpire Larry Goetz, for bench jockeying.

Ralph and Ann's daughter Mary married a future Dodger player, former manager of the New York Mets and the Boston Red Sox, Bobby Valentine.[8]
Ralph was a contestant on Concentration starting in 1963, where he won 17 consecutive games. He appeared in Concentration's 1963 Challenge of Champions.

In his final spring training appearance, Branca was relieved by Sandy Koufax, whose first major league strikeout was Thomson.

Branca was a pallbearer at Jackie Robinson's funeral in October, 1972.

In the 2012 movie, "Parental Guidance," Branca makes a cameo appearance as a judge during a scene involving an audition for a music school. During the scene Billy Crystal's grandson takes to the stage and recites the radio broadcast of, "The Shot Heard Round the World."

Branca is portrayed by Hamish Linklater in the 2013 film 42, which is a biographical sports drama about the career of Jackie Robinson.

Branca is the subject of the 2013 documentary "Branca's Pitch," produced by Andrew J. Muscato.

Old Timers know about the shot that was heard around the world, the homer by Bobby Thompson off of Ralph Branca. Does anybody know what Giant pitcher got that big win? He's a forgotten man.

Don't know about the pitcher but Mays was on deck. The only Giant pitcher I remember from those days was Sal Maglie.
