Yikes, Gus Bus offense is having it's way with the Tide defense. 14-7 FSU. FSU QB is being dazzling for now.

Yeah my fear is DeBoer can get together a good offense but no defense

Not much to say except Florida State out played us from start to finish. Simpson looked pretty good but our defense was not able to stop FSU.

LSU/Clemson off to a good start, like Texas/OSU it's defense and Clemson forced a fumble and got a FG.

    It's 3-0 after 1 qtr.

Pretty exciting game, LSU has turned it over 2 times though and trails 10-3. I don't understand why Kelly didn't kick the FG at the end of the half, he had no timeouts and even if he makes the 1st and gets lined up he's only going to have one more play. Of course if he gets a TD then it's tied.

Klubnik really looking pretty good and has some wheels to run the football.

LSU just got screwed out of a TD, worst call I've seen in a long time.

LSU hangs on and gets the win, the first for Kelly in an opener at LSU. Defense was the key something that has been missing in Baton Rouge under Kelly

Interesting reading this morning on Arch Manning's first start. Way too much hype on Texas and Arch. Sark and Arch were very complimentary towards Ohio State in post game interviews. No excuses, just straight forward remarks, which I appreciated. I am confident we will see a different QB by seasons end.

Very happy (and lucky) to come out with a W. I'm sure that should the teams meet again later in the playoffs that it will be two very different teams (not different players...talking about added experience) and two different quarterbacks. Tough first matchup for both QB's.

As a neutral observer, I'd say that both defenses looked superior, give the known offensive strength of the opponents. Witness Smith's early struggles to get free. For that reason - although I don't expect it will change minds - I believe it's unfair to judge the performance of either QB. I suspect the game will turn out to be the toughest challenge either faces this season. FWIW, I know ND isn't facing a team in Miami close to those two in terms of defensive intensity and "normal" offensive prowess, but I worry just the same about a Florida State kind of surprise.
