Can you hope they win but a meteor takes out their bus on the way home?

So you aren't one of those SEC fans that chant SEC, SEC, SEC at every bowl game with an SEC team?

That loss to Abilene Christian was the last straw for Shaka Smart as it's being reported that Marquette is close to hiring him. Shaka has not been officially relieved of his coaching position at Texas, and I don't believe I ever would have thought that a HC at Texas would leave for Marquette. But this is different, he'd worn out his welcome and I have no doubt that the AD and all involved probably told him he wouldn't be back. So it's off to Marquette.

    3 names...

Butch Beard is #1, HC at Texas Tech
Dana Altman is #2, HC at Oregon
Royal Ivey is #3, NBA Asst with the Nets and a former Longhorn.

My MU friends might respond to your post by noting that both schools have appeared 3 times in the FF and that Marquette has 1 natty vs Texas’ 0.

Bobda, I remember well that natty. I even recall (I think) the year - 1977 - and the coach, Al McGuire. I was a huge AM fan, when he coached and after retirement when he was a color commentator.

Really bummed that my Gators blew an 11 point lead in the last 10 minutes. Oral Roberts only played 6 players and the Gators were doing very well, however our coach decided to slow the pace down and we ended up losing.

Gator boards are going nuts demanding our coach Mike White be fired.

Really disappointing to me but I don't advocate firing him.

Michigan and FSU coming up. I picked Michigan so have to root for them.

Besides I don't root for FSU in much of anything. :)

Houston Cougars are on the verge of the Final Four, the first since the days of Phi Slamma Jamma! A much different program than those days though. Kelvin Sampson, the revived and NCAA compliant version has done a great job at UH. There is plenty of basketball talent within 300 miles of the Houston campus, so I expect that Houston will be a great program as long as he's the HC. Hopefully he'll be able to resist the temptation to leave for a Power 5 job or even the NBA.

Don is the new leader with 55 points, Stu right behind him at 54 and I'm at 53 points.

Sid and Rotag247 still have the most possible points at 122 for Sid and 129 for Rotag247.

    BTW is Rotag247 GatorBill?

Yes, Rotag is Gator spelled backward.

I have a pretty good chance after languishing at or near the bottom.

I need a Gonzaga Baylor final with Michigan winning tonight also.
