Rutgers let a Sweet 16 berth for the first time in 40 years slip though its fingers. Up by 10 against Houston with less than 5 minutes to go. They then slowed the pace of their offense and committed a flurry of turnovers and missed lay ups and dunks that allowed Houston steal this one.
Meanwhile over on the Women's side things went to form with not a single upset on the opening day of the tourney not even in the 8/9 games.
Stu hangs on to 1st, with Myself, kp, Don and Michael right on his heels. He does however have the least number of possible points. Rotag247 and Sid have the most possible points.
Rutgers coach really mishandled that game in the final five minutes. Slowed his team way down way too early and they could not regain their pace and composure. That loss is on him.
Is it my imagination or am I seeing foot shuffling not being called for traveling? I haven't watched many games, but it's happened in the ones I've seen.
I noticed it a couple of times yesterday as well. I haven't watched a lot but it seems like traveling is not call very often at all.
Finally the women get into the upset mode...Wright State and BYU as double digit seeds upset Arkansas and Rutgers.
Gators playing well and have an 11 point lead with about 8 minutes to go, so they slow down the pace and you guessed it, blow the lead and lose the game. Gator forums are full of fans demanding Coach White be fired.
Whew.....M looks like it will be the only B10 team in the S16. Guess this atones for being the only B10 team to lose a bowl game a few seasons ago.
