Aggies almost overcome that with a great defensive stand and a great drive. I have to give it to Scott's Ags they fought hard and deserved to win....maybe the season will be better than expected. I don't know why but I don't like Dabo, give him credit for what he's accomplished just don't like him.
Buckeye QBs managed to complete 30 of 33 passes with no interceptions and six scores. Rutgers still has a way to go to be competitive in the conference. Terry, I agree that call against the Aggies was a bad call and definitely out of bounds. The Gators got waylaid by Kentucky and Florida State may be in for a long season. Michigan State lost to Arizona State on the road and Penn State whipped Pittsburgh soundly.
Texas just got by Tulsa and that is not a good thing. The next few games could all be losses unless we get a lot better faster. Arizona State took down Michigan State in an upset I guess. Maybe Herman Edwards can coach.
I'm worn out after that game, but we're home. A bunch of weird stuff conspired to keep the Ags out of the win column, but I'm damned happy with the effort and fight in these kids. I think anyone can see that Jimbo's rep as a QB coach is well deserved. Consider how much damage he first had to undo from the previous QB coach (who happens to be in the process of ruining a pre-season Heisman candidate for Rick's Cats) and it's even more impressive how far Mond has come. The defense gave up some big plays, a few of which were just damned fine efforts by the Clemson players, but they were overall pretty salty. If they continue to improve, as I expect they will, we should be pretty darned good as the season goes on. This takes me back to something Jacky Sherrill said back when he first started at A&M: I can't really comment on the other games of the day as I missed most of them.
Playing in Tempe continues to be a house of horrors for the B10. But, since it was the Spartans melting in the dessert heat, glad I stayed up late to watch the game till the end.
Bobda, the Big Ten had their problems yesterday. I hope we can reverse that trend Saturday night in Arlington Texas! (TCU)
Don I think TCU is a good solid team, but I really don't think that they will be able to slow down the Buckeyes. They are not OU.
Saban actually split the time between Tagovolua and Hurts...and it worked. The looked good as usual, but Hurts looked good too. He made better decisions and seemed more accurate. I know it was Arkansas State but he looked better. We'll see if it works. Ole Miss next.
I'm interested to see if Ole Miss can rack up points against Alabama the way they've done in their first two games. I really doubt it, but it will still be interesting.
Yeah, first conference game. Louisville is a respectable team but Ole Miss has given Alabama fits the last couple of years.
This will be our first test and on the road, so we will see. I am excited with what I have witnessed by the Buckeyes thus far. Haskins is for real and Martell looks good as well. Defense looks much better in game two. Ryan Day seems to be on top of the coaching and that is a plus as well.
I just read where Adrian Martinez, was injured (knee) towards the end of the game. That could be a crippling blow to the Huskers if the injury proves to be serious.
Don, I haven't had my coffee yet... Yeah, we're holding our collective breaths. Goods news is the team as a whole did a 180 with this staff. It's obvious though that missing the Akron game was crucial to the fine tuning.
AJ, sorry about disturbing your morning coffee break, (grin) but I sincerely hope Martinez is not seriously injured.
