Couple of controversial ejections in the Music City Bowl so far. The P12 continues their abysmal bowl season. I wouldn't be surprised if USC gets smoked tonight. Then again, I guess these schools were making coaching changes for a reason.
A lot of points scored on turnovers by Ohio State. Should be an interesting second half. USC defense is going to be hard pressed in the 4th quarter unless the offense can improve in the second half and move the ball without turnovers.
After having spent way too many New Years watching PAC 8/10/12 teams chew up Big 10 teams in the Rose Bowl, this bowl season is rapture!
Trivia tidbit USC is the only team in FBS/DIV1A history to never have had players names on their jerseys. Also have never worn special game uniforms that are so popular these days.
Buckeyes defense won this game. Eight sacks and three scores on turnovers. Who would have guessed neither team would score in the second half? We won but somehow it did not seem like we won. USC smothered us with their defense in the last half. Our play calling was extremely conservative. I kept looking for Coach Tressel but could not find him anywhere.
I am sure that Bobda has been enjoying this bowl season. Overall, it just wasn't a good year for the Pac12. We got teams who are bowling whose coaches got the can, we got teams with coaches on the hot seat who are bowling. It just isn't a recipe for a good bowl production. I turned the OSU USC game off at 24-7 and was fairly surprised to see that wound up being the final.
Dominating performance by OSU's defense. Pushed around and beat up USC the entire game. Barrett was a liability tonight. His knee injury took away his quickness and he was not effective either running or throwing the ball. USC did a nice job in the second half shutting down OSU's running game and forcing OSU to try and move the ball by passing. But, in the end, it was the Buckeye defense that controlled the result of this game.
Bobda, I agree about Barrett. If this would not have been his final game, I think we could have scored with Haskins, who will be our starting QB this coming fall. Coach Meyer opted to take the chance since he has got us there this final season.
I agree the Buckeye defense was as advetised, loaded with talent and they were what won the game. OSU offense was not very effective. Sam Darnold, really didn't look like a top draft pick to me. Big 10 is undefeated in the bowls so far.
Mack Brown is going to be inducted into to the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame!! I wonder if Vince Young is already in it?
Well Lamar Jackson didn't get the win in what is likely his final college football game, but the did become the 3rd player in NCAA history to throw for 50TD's and rush for 50TD's. The other 2 are Tim Tebow and Colin Kapernick...interesting company! Just think those guys played 4 years and Lamar is leaving a year early, so if he stayed he'd likely obliterate the record and set something that probably nobody would ever come close to beating. I'm not sure Lamar Jackson is going to be a success in the NFL, but then I wasn't sure about Deshaun Watson and he proved me wrong big time.
McSorley goes into a feet first slide. UW player dives at him late. Helmet to helmet. No call at all. WTH?
Washington Helmets are shiny gold that's for sure, more so than even the Golden Domers helmets! Penn State so far looks to continue the B10 dominance in this bowl season.
 The 12Pac face-plant doesn't surprise me. I've been worried about the entire conference since I bought Athlon's preseason mag. There just wasn't an outstanding team in the league this year. Even worse, several programs were in decline. My fears were confirmed when Stanford lost to San Diego State... As Corey said, "There's a reason they were firing their coaches."
