First game this week is at 11:00 central time on Friday. I will be announcing the awards as the winners become evident. First award: The French wanna be award: This award goes to the member that rose the white flag the quickest. For this year, that “honor” belongs to FL Bucks for his one and done performance. Fitz, the 2012 winner of this award, threw it all away when he posted picks on week 2.
Foxchase gets his first win of the season in the last week of the contest. For the trophy presentations: Third place: The winner of this year’s 3rd place trophy is I gotta Football Jones. It would have taken a miracle for this team to jump into 2nd or 1st. Not even close. Congrats Second place: This year’s second place trophy goes toJohn Deere. An eight place finish in the final week was almost enough for propel him into the top spot but by one point, John Deere settles for second place. Congrats. Congrats! First place: This year’s winner is Kelly’s Heros. He and John Deere duked it out to the final play for the Heros to pull out a one point overall victory in the 2013 contest. Congrats! Congrats and please send Skybox PM or email with your address to receive the trophy.
For the non-trophy presentations, the first one has already been shown but it will be repeated here: The French wanna be award: This award goes to the member that rose the white flag the quickest. For this year, that “honor” belongs to FL Bucks for his one and done performance. Fitz, the 2012 winner of this award, threw it all away when he posted picks on week 2. The Wrecker or Checker award: This award is given to the member who either finished High or Low… not much in between. This years award goes to JO’Co. He had 3 top ten finishes, a first place, a third place, and a forth place. No other top ten finishes awarded and he finished just outside the top ten in the 14th place. The Top 10 NOT award: goes to the member that competed at least 10 weeks who had the least amount of top ten finishes: This award goes to KP with his one 3rd place finish in week 6. Ironic to be a fan of the team at the top most of the year and have only one top 10 finish. The Mr. Inconsistent award: This award goes to the person with the most weekly wins while not being able to finish in the top 3. This year, the honor goes to Lady Vol. She had 3 weekly wins and 8 total top 10’s making 38% of her top ten’s being wins… and still couldn’t beat her husband! 8) The Mr. Consistent award: This award goes to the member that finished the highest without ever having a weekly win. This year, this honor goes to Scott finishing in sixth place with seven top ten finishes and zero weekly wins. The “I am Woman hear me MEOW” award: this award goes to the lowest placing female in the group. This year’s award goes to mrsjoco who placed 7 spots below her closest female competition. The Big Ten winner: The Big Ten fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s Big Ten winner is John Deere with his 2nd place finish/ Congrats! The 12Pac winner: (Corey and JO’Co are Irish first so they do not compete in this category). The 12Pac fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s 12Pac winner is Bear Down Rick with his 7th place finish. Congrats! The SEC winner: The SEC fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s SEC winner is I gotta Football Jones. Congrats! The Independent winner a.k.a. the highest ND finisher: The ND fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s winner is Kelly’s Heros. Hard to beat the overall winner. Congrats! The Moderator division winner: This award goes to the highest placing moderator on the board. This year’s Moderator winner is I gotta Football Jones. Congrats!
Congratulations to the winners. Tom, thank you for all your work to make this a fun game for us Skyboxers.
All season long, the yahoo site put up 14 weeks as the span of the contest. Our contest is over but you can still enter picks for this week and move yourself up the Yahoo final standings.
Now, the Jaskewicz contest winners were announced last week. Some of us stayed in for the week they added on... and some of us didn't. The standings changed a bit in the overall Yahoo contest. 1st - I've got a football Jones with 2373 points 2nd - Kelly's Heros with 2362 points 3rd - John Deere with 2361 points There was one year that all Richard Petty had to do was start the last two races to win the "Winston Cup". That was pretty much all Kelly's Heros and John Deer had to do to win the extended Yahoo contest. No shows they were. Win they did not. (said with my best Yoda impersonation) 8)
A little late, but congratulations to all the winners. And a big thanks to Tom for handling this every year. Lastly I hope I can become relevant in this contest again. Of course it would help to not miss a week I guess.
received notification yesterday that the trophies are on the way. Kelley's Heros should have his by end of day on 12/24 and John Deere should have his by end of day on 12/23. Tracking numbers coming by e-mail.
Not sure if Gip posted his winning picture yet, but here is Michael (John Deere) with his 2nd place trophy;
