I think I had it calculated where if Oregon St had scored on that last second 4th and goal, I would have won it. Just had too few points on Stanford compared to the ones that placed above me.
Stu's Cat wins week 10 by 3 points over John Deere and LoneStarIrish. Kelly's Heros comes in 13th this week but that is enough to hold on to 1st place overall by one point. There is a new sheriff in town. John Deere beat out I gotta football Jones by one point for top honors this week to also move into 1st place over Kelly's Heros by 2 points overall. For some reason, the overall standings have not updated but here are the projections: Down -- PL --- TP -- Top 10 -- Team name 00 ---- 01 ---- 2000 -- 10 --- John Deere 02 ---- 02 ---- 1998 --- 9 --- Kelly's Heros 42 ---- 03 ---- 1958 --- 8 --- I gotta Football Jones 49 ---- 04 ---- 1951 --- 7 --- Lady Vol 52 ---- 05 ---- 1948 --- 9 --- Milwaukee Wolverine 85 ---- 06 ---- 1915 --- 7 --- Scott 97 ---- 07 ---- 1903 --- 7 --- Bear Down Rick 108 --- 08 ---- 1892 --- 4 --- newalbanybuckeye 137 --- 09 ---- 1863 --- 5 --- Stu's Cat 140 --- 10 ---- 1860 --- 3 --- Boondock Muskies 149 --- 11 ---- 1851 --- 6 --- Bama Bo 155 --- 12 ---- 1845 --- 4 --- Treefrog 175 --- 13 ---- 1825 --- 5 --- RoGator 180 --- 14 ---- 1820 --- 2 --- JO'Co 196 --- 15 ---- 1804 --- 3 --- Irishboy 221 --- 16 ---- 1779 --- 3 --- LoneStarIrish 248 --- 17 ---- 1752 --- 1 --- KP 251 --- 18 ---- 1749 --- 2 --- mrsjoco 302 --- 19 ---- 1698 --- 2 --- This Thing of Ours 319 --- 20 ---- 1681 --- 4 --- Foxchase 350 --- 21 ---- 1650 --- 3 --- Tim Gentry 409 --- 22 ---- 1591 --- 2 --- NC Gator
Several awards are already written in stone. Several more to solidify in the next two weeks. Get those picks in on time!
I need 3 or 4 folks to get hit by a cement truck just to sniff the podium. Looks like another lack-luster finish for Scott.
But remember, last year's awards were: The French wanna be award: This award goes to the member that rose the white flag the quickest. For this year, that “honor” belongs to Fitz for his one and done performance. Tim Gentry gave him a run for his money but Fitz valiantly held on to his struggle to remain in contention for this award. The Wrecker or Checker award: This award is given to the member who either finished High or Low… not much in between. This years award goes to Bryanspicks. He had 7 top ten finishes, a first place, five second places, and a third place. No other top ten finishes awarded and he finished tied for 3rd place. The Top 10 NOT award: goes to the member that competed at least 10 weeks who had the least amount of top ten finishes: This award goes to NOTYOURDADSBIGTEN. He had 2 top ten finishes. Could have had something to do with his 20 point rule. The Mr. Inconsistent award: This award goes to the person with the most weekly wins while having the least top 10 weekly finishes. This year, the honor goes to IrishPickedMoreWinners. He had 2 weekly wins (tied for the most) and 6 total top 10’s making 33% of his top ten’s being wins. The Mr. Consistent award: This award goes to the member that finished the highest without ever having a weekly win. This year, this honor goes to John Deere finishing in second place (actually tied for first) with eleven top ten finishes and zero weekly wins. The “I am Woman hear me roar” award: this award goes to the highest placing female in the group. This year’s award goes to Lady Vol falling from a second place finish last year to a 6th place finish this year. The Big Ten winner: The Big Ten fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s Big Ten winner, make that winners, are Return of Lloyd and John Deere. Not only did they beat the other Big Ten members, they beat everyone. Congrats! The 12Pac winner: (Corey and JO’Co are Irish first so they do not compete in this category). The 12Pac fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s 12Pac winner is Bear Down Rick. Congrats! The SEC winner: The SEC fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s SEC winner is Dooley’s Orange Machine. Congrats! The Independent winner a.k.a. the highest ND finisher: The ND fans on the board compete for the top position for their conference. This year’s winner is Gipicks. Congrats! The Moderator division winner: This award goes to the highest placing moderator on the board. This year’s Moderator winner is Dooley’s Orange Machine. Congrats! Third place: An 11th place finish in the final week for One and a 2nd place for the other created a tie for third place between Dooley’s Orange Machine and Bryanspicks that had to be settled by the Yahoo site. The winner of this year’s 3rd place trophy is Dooley’s Orange Machine. Congrats Second place: By week 4, this member had slipped into 2nd place and stayed there for the remainder of the contest. He moves up from the 3rd place trophy last year to the second place trophy this year. He actually tied for 1st place in points but the Yahoo site put him in second. This year’s second place trophy goes to John Deere. Congrats! First place: This year’s winner started in 7th place in week one. By week two, he had jumped into first place. He never relinquished that position for the duration of the contest. This year’s winner is Return of Lloyd. Congrats!
I'll give you credit, those are very creative. I'll recommend you for the Youth Soccer League in the Subdivision, those would be much more interesting than the dreaded participation award. The award for having your parents asked to leave the most times....Timmy Putin. The award for best nose picker...Joey Pickens You get the drift!
We were traveling last week and I dropped the ball and didn't get my entry in. I was so far down it didn't really matter anyway. I did enter this week.
Always something to play for... before last week, you were only 49 points away from getting out of the basement in the moderator division.
I lost my chance Tom. I didn't really skip it on purpose just the way we traveled and other priorities that I had I forgot. I doubt I would have if I had done better this year.
LoneStarIrish wins his first week of the contest edging out Milwaukee Wolverine by 2 points. Although they are tied, the top two positions reversed again this seek. Kelly's Heros goes back into the lead. Another first week winner: Tim Gentry wins the next to the last week by 6 points over last week's winner LoneStarIrish. Many upsets this week led to most pick sets bleeding like a stuck pig. Only a couple of one position swaps in the top 10. One more week to go. Down -- PL --- TP -- Top 10 -- Team name 00 ---- 01 ---- 2195 -- 11 --- Kelly's Heros 07 ---- 02 ---- 2188 -- 10 --- John Deere 45 ---- 03 ---- 2150 --- 9 --- I gotta Football Jones 52 ---- 04 ---- 2143 --- 7 --- Lady Vol 55 ---- 05 ---- 2140 -- 10 --- Milwaukee Wolverine 86 ---- 06 ---- 2109 --- 7 --- Scott 92 ---- 07 ---- 2103 --- 6 --- newalbanybuckeye 96 ---- 08 ---- 2099 --- 8 --- Bear Down Rick 128 --- 09 ---- 2067 --- 5 --- Boondock Muskies 130 --- 10 ---- 2065 --- 7 --- Stu's Cat 153 --- 11 ---- 2042 --- 5 --- Treefrog 170 --- 12 ---- 2025 --- 3 --- JO'Co 177 --- 13 ---- 2018 --- 5 --- Irishboy 184 --- 14 ---- 2011 --- 6 --- RoGator 190 --- 15 ---- 2005 --- 5 --- LoneStarIrish 219 --- 16 ---- 1976 --- 6 --- Bama Bo 266 --- 17 ---- 1929 --- 2 --- mrsjoco 281 --- 18 ---- 1914 --- 1 --- KP 326 --- 19 ---- 1869 --- 5 --- Foxchase 329 --- 20 ---- 1866 --- 4 --- Tim Gentry 405 --- 21 ---- 1790 --- 2 --- This Thing of Ours 420 --- 22 ---- 1775 --- 2 --- NC Gator
The last week is upon us. There are 20 games this week which means a total possible 210 points for a perfect score. With that said, it is mathematically possible for the 15th place and higher to take 1st place... not probable but a long shot possibility. With all the upsets we have had lately, who knows what could happen. Reasonable expectations for a 1st place finish are probably only had by Kelly's Heros and John Deere. 3rd place is pretty open and up for grabs for those in 7th or higher right now. Get those picks in on time. SIX Friday games this week. Miss Friday and you lose a minimum of 21 points.
