Oh no, I just couldn't bring myself to pay (even half of) $42K for a used boat, even an Everglades. The owner wasn't interested in a $10+K price reduction and I believe it's still for sale. I'm using a little Carolina Skiff 1780 I purchsed about 2 years ago, when I sold the 23' Proline. It's agreat little inshore rig and I'm not concerned with dragging it up on a shell/oyster bar. I tried to upload a photo but it was huge and distorted the page. Here's a link to a photo I took back on the 4th July: http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/9084/cimg0030wj1.jpg This morning, got up at sunrise and tried a little kayak fishing, for the first time. Unfortunately, I was using a small Heritage sit-in with no holders so it was a little hard to manage two rods and a net. But it was fun (caught three undersized trout) and something I'm going to take up. Now, shopping for a Heritage Redfish 12 or Wildess Systems Tarpon 120 ..... with all of the goodies for fishing. So, how ya feeling about the rotation that McCarney seems to be developing at DT? Heard that Jaye Howard is getting some time at DT with the 1s. When he was recruited, I recall his coach saying he was a talent that just needed a year or so in the gym and at the training table.
Enjoyed the pic...makes me want to go fishin...bad. On the DL I guess I'm like everybody else and waiting to see who steps up if any. Our pass defense won't be much better if we don't develop a pass rush. Hopefully Hunter and Dunlap will make for huge improvements in that area.
MCG There's some good stuff on GC re the interior d-line. Sounding as though Ron "AK" Wilson is doing well and I thought this was interesting: "McCarney did say that Justin Trattou is a defensive end that will be asked to play inside on a three-man line." Dunlap, Cunningham, and Trattou/Patchan @ d-line in the 3-4.
Fla coaches in luring him away from ND, told him that the 3-4 was not a good defense for him. So now he's going to play DL in a 3-4! Ain't recruiting fun!
LOL, yeh Meyer was pretty busy at that time ….. he got Trattou while he was also stealing James Wilson from USC-w, Major Wright from tOSU, Deonte Thompson from Miami, Jaye Howard from fsu, John Brown from Alabama, and John Brantley IV (son of a former UF QB, nephew of a former UF LBer, and coached in HS by a former UF QB) from Mack Brown @ UTx, who (I've heard) was telling JB IV that the spread option would not work in the SEC and couldn't win an MNC ...... much less produce a Heisman winner at QB.
Georgia lost their #1 L-OT for the season yesterday. By the time they play the Gators his replacement will have had time to settle in to the season, but will he be as good and as we all know that L-OT has the QB's blindside so it's a pretty big loss.
This "injury" has generated some discussions .... re karma ..... on the UF boards, as Sturdivant decided to chop block a UF DT in last season's game resulting in a premature end to Teron Sanders' season. I'm sure ol' Mark Richt has some good depth going on the uga oline and they'll be ready for their run through the SEC.
