Gip, there is no greater fan than I of all the Irish generals that have served their country with honor. I'm not a fan of those that have brought her dishonor or have attempted to betray her people....

    Terry,

I need you to get ready for this:

Donald Trump will be the 47th President of the U.S.

BTW, with all this bantering going on, are we sure MCG didn't hack into BuckT's account? I don't remember Terry posting this much.

T has always posted about things he feels strongly about. I think he took a leave over a little debate that I and others had with him. I am delighted to have him back and though I know you are just kidding he is always respectful and agree with him or not he makes good points and listens to yours and debates them rather than turning them around, putting words into your mouth, and debating straw man points. There is absolutely no comparison to MCG.

Stu, my leave was 100% due to MCG and completely unrelated to any debate or disagreement on any issue you and I or anybody not named MCG may have had. I simply found him to be rude, mean-spirited, disrespectful and over the top with no intentions to offer anything productive to the forum. He took an environment that I had once looked forward to coming to and reading to one that I did not...so I did not. Once I realized he was gone, I was happy to return to this band of hooligans and misguided souls. All that said, I gotta say I am a little more than taken aback at my name and his being compared in the same sentence.

Husker, I'll make you a deal. I'll get my head around that possibility if you'll get yours ready for the more likely prospect IMHO, that his a$$ is going to jail for crimes against the people.

So you think you'd win? I guess I don't understand going to jail for a crime you were never charged with. I mean any prosecutor can indict a Ham sandwich....right?

That was almost the case with a lot of us.
I know Terry and the other mods struggled with not wanting to ban anyone... but that was one time it needed to happen, and not because we were on opposite sides of the political spectrum.
He was an a$$hole at all times.

I said I knew you were kidding. But I’d have been taken aback a little too. Anyway we’re all old friends here…the operative word being “old”.

It really doesn't seem that there is any stopping Trump. I like Haley and would vote for her, but she's so far behind I can't see how she can catch him.

Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard.

Long way to go....he joins Ted Cruz, Rick Santorum and Mike Huckabee as the last 3 Republican winners of the Iowa caucus and as we know none of whom were the eventual nominee. His biggest challenge today is to dodge yet another $multi-million$ award to E. Jean Carrol as a result of his sexual assault and defamation proclivities and inability to tell the truth or, in lieu thereof, shut his mouth

Hope you are right BT but looking at the all the polling in upcoming primary states, only New Hampshire is a state where Haley in within 10 pts. Trump is blowing out his competition everywhere else. The thought of a Biden - Trump rematch is beyond depressing.

Krebs posted this on Facebook...I feel he might be spot on, and I'm scared.

But I see a Trump presidency differently. Best case scenario is that he wins election, undoes everything Biden enacted by Executive Order, writes a blizzard of his own Executive Orders and we live in an improved situation for the next four years. What I really see happening if Trump is elected is a four year challenge to the election results, an immediate impeachment attempt followed by succeeding attempts based on his unsuitability for office, four years of non-stop name calling by both parties, constant civil unrest and another Democrat win in the mid-terms. And let's not forget he will be almost 79 when he would be sworn in which, in my mind is just way too damned old. I think this country is in such an advanced state of decay that we cannot afford a single mis-step or delays in some form of collaborative government. Take a good look around you and then convince yourself that we are not a DEFCON 5 as a nation.
