I really thought Estime would be a success in the NFL. He still could of course, but doesn't look like he'll be a star. The link is to a WSJ article on CJ Carr. It's a good read. https://www.wsj.com/sports/football...d?st=ehq9tj&reflink=desktopwebshare_permalink
This was the Carr that I remembered, now seeing him with a ND cap is confusing!! Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr was just a few months removed from leading the team to the 1997 national championship when a radio announcer asked him a question. The Wolverines had just barely eked out a win over Minnesota, and Carr was asked if he felt the need to deliver a Knute Rockne halftime team talk to spur his players to victory. The name of the legendary Notre Dame coach landed like a cockroach in Carr’s cup of coffee. “I might deliver a Fielding Yost-type talk or a Bo Schembechler talk, or Fritz Crisler,” he fired back. “But I will never give a Knute Rockne talk.”
ND needs to win one of these first two games if they are going to be in the playoff. OL needs to keep Carr upright to win and that will be tough in the environment.
How do you not like a guy like Marcus Freeman! This really shows his character. There is only a few seconds of analysis of the CFP game with the Buckeyes, mostly about his family.
Wow! I normally don't watch entire videos like that. Too long for my old man's attention span. But I was glued to every second of that interview. He truly is an incredible person as well as a pretty decent head coach. As relaxed as he was, I could feel the underlying intensity, and, as you said, his character was evident. Thanks, Terry.
USC offers to continue the series with ND. Probably early season going forward. https://www.southbendtribune.com/st...all-marcus-freeman-lincoln-riley/85778111007/
