Well it's nice the Zooker has confidence. And I do believe he was not given a complete opportunity at Florida. However things had reached a point and the noise in the system was so great that I don't believe he would have been able to be successful. But I will have to say that there is no way he does it a year earlier than Meyer and there is no way he is as god a coach or as good a recruiter as Meyer. I wish him success at Illinois but the Gators have the right coach at the right time in our history.
So when is he going to win one at Illinois? This line sounds like what he was telling his new recruits. Lets see how long he can get away with this...
I still don't understand it either. I love my sleep and always have.  But seriously I have never quite come to grips with Zook. There is no doubt he is a great recruiter and a really gung ho guy. He's always said it's more about the Jessie's and the Joe's than the X's and the O's and that can be somewhat true also. But the reason he failed at Florida didn't have much to do with his recruiting or his X'S and O's. It seemed to be more intangible things. I'm convienced that Urban Meyer's approach where he looks at his program from the overall perspective and works really hard to graduate his kids and build commitment to each other and the team really works. And I don't think Zook understands that, or at least doesn't understand how to make it a reality.
