What happens if he recovers and finishes the season 9-3? or even 8-4?

Who are the Tenn fans targeting as their top 5 guys to replace Fulmer?

I am so disgusted with the lack of effort in big games that my list could be:

    Moe
    Larry
    Curley

    Terry,

Johnny Majors was given the boot because he couldn't beat Bama. Fulmer now has a reputation of not being able to beat Florida. Tennessee fans are growing tired of having their SEC season end with the SEC season opener!

Is the heat really that hot in K-ville about getting rid of Phil?

That is surprising to me because I didn't think that was truly going on.

I am not sure Florida fans want Phil to leave.

Tenn certainly is one of those plum jobs in college football, you know Alumni support, tradition of winning, great facilities, commitment to win, etc.

But as we have seen at many other top programs that it's hard to get a big time coach. Alabama with Nick Saban, Fla with Urban Meyer and at least initially Texas A&M with Franchione are the exceptions rather than the rule.

Usually it's more like you have to find a coach who's doing a good job at a place with less resources. I would be surprised though if John Gruden wasn't on the Tenn list since he coached there once and married a Tenn Cheerleader!

Two things about the Tennessee job

<t>1. For the first time in the 6 years I've lived in the South, the UT fans have turned. The apex has been cleared. I would say that a majority of the UT fans now want Fulmer fired.<br/>
    <br/>
    2. UT, to me, is a weird job. Its prestige and position can't be questioned. Its financial and facility resources are without peer for the most part.. HOWEVER, there's not a real strong backbone of great talent in the state. It does appear to be getting better, and there are some great kids in the state...but like ND/Nebraska etc, they pull their kids nationally. Whoever gets that job needs to recruit.</t>

I figured this topic was the best place to post this week's cartoon due to the caption in the lower right corner:

3 years ago I told you he needed to be fired, you were defending him. I hope you have him another 10 years.

Florida got Urbs and Bama got St. Nick ( who has brought one signature win so far), Stoops saved OU but it's not always a shoo in that a school can just change coaches and change luck.

Example: Richt is 1-5 vs. Florida and that won't work ever at Tenn.

Now...if the Vols could get Rich Rodriguez away from WVa or Jeff Tedford from Cal they might be heading in the right direction..

Your typical childish post, eh TB?
I supported Johnny Majors to the end. I have supported Fulmer until it is obvious that he will not turn this around. This is what a LOYAL FAN does, TB. Of course, you wouldn't know anything about that, would you?

    MCG,

To be honest with you, I am at the point that I hope the heat will cause Fulmer to take a good look in the mirror. I would like nothing more than for him to get angry at the fans and push the team harder just to prove something to us.

Go ahead Phat Phil. Get angry! Show us that we are idiots for doubting you. Give us the "what for".

I didn't think you were truly ready to get rid of Phil just yet.

... oh but I am. Phil must turn it around with very impressive wins and no more losses or I want his tail on a rail.

    What ever Tom.

Point is you got uptight with me years ago for stating Fulmers mistakes that were bringing UT down. I told you when he rehired Cutcliffe he was buying time. You defended him and now you have a program that needs to be cleaned from head to toe. So you're loyal? Maybe if more of you fans were loyal to UT instead of Fulmer he would already be gone? For someone who isn't a fan of UT it's good to see them going through these struggles. Like I said, I hope he's there another 10 years. Childish post? I don't think so, I'm just sayin'.

Oh yeah, Don't forget he just gave a Million bucks to buy more time

Getting tired of having Fulmer destroy the dogs year in and year out to the point of calling him a back stabber is not pointing out his mistakes.

Go ahead and twist the dagger a few more times, TB. That’s your style. I can’t change that.

Tailback, I remember a few years ago when you used to come around and give us some insights about the Dawgs and some other teams.

It seems now days you only post when you want to take a shot at someone.

    I don't quite get it!

    But Tom's right.

    Thanks for making my point.

As you said, years ago you were calling him a back stabber that we should rid ourselves of. Now that you have a coach capable of beating Fulmer, you want us to keep him.

Your "told you so" is based upon a complete scenario change. Good try TB. I got news for you. He could still lead us to a win over Georgia this year and I will still call for his removal. Georgia is the least of our problems.

Tom, I'm entitled to my opinion. Yes I think Fulmer back stabbed Johnny Majors. So what? And I've said that comment within the last year also.

What's Fulmers record since Richt took over UGA? Fulmer doesn't have Richts number. Richt's put a few ass kickings on Fulmer if I recall correctly.

Pointing out mistakes? How about when I pointed out how Fulmer allowed the inmates to run the asylum? Who was that WR that Fulmer stuck with that even you admitted was a a problem to the team? There's many more instances. An
