On the contrary, the northern half needs to be sold to Canada. Pelosi, Feinstein and Boxer... all NoCals.

I remember when California was pretty innovative, now they are just looney.

I think that people just don't understand the dynamic of what is going on there. The 'so goes California' saying still holds true to this day. Starting in the early to mid-90s onto today, you have a political trend that we are now seeing play out on a national level.

Sadly, most people just laugh it off as 'California' and stop watching. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, playing out on the national stage that should be a surprise politically. They are following the same playbook to power and success as they did years ago.

In perusing a Michigan unemployment site looking for some answers to some questions I have I came across this commentary:

"Eight years of a Republican admin and things are worse. Now they are blaming Obama.
People are out of work and pensions and investments are gone. Actually they are not gone, just redirected into the pockets of conservatives. Conservatives did more harm to America than any foreign aggressor could ever hope to inflict on this country.
We are in a terrible situation in Iraq & we can't get out. Bush and Cheney's pride and delusion blinded them from US casualties, the destruction of Iraq and its people, and the inflaming of sectarian strife and anti-American violence throughout the Middle East and blocked any focus on domestic issues like our economy.
That White House Moron from Texas fleeced America and gave us a depression.
Conservatives serve only a few special-interest groups that benefit from a war. They are the oil industry, the military-security complex, and the Israel Lobby, AIPAC. Bush's contrived war, based on lies & deception, serves no other interest - certainly not America's."

When George W Bush took office, the American economy had begun to collapse in the 2 previous quarters...but it was Ws fault.

When 9-11 happened, it was Ws fault.

When groups led by people like George Soros spent billions of dollars to create unrest and political conflict in the United States (that Soros is now profiting from), it was Ws fault and worse yet, those dipshits helped Soros.

Im sorry, the same rules of engagement apply then....

Lead on Obama, its now your fault.

BTW-I see Obama is bringing back the Death Tax that was suppose to drop to zero next year.

Nothing like losing the family farm or the family business because Dad had a heart attack....

Of course, the people staying stupid **** like that have no issue with the government 'reclaiming' the property of people smart enough to go it alone and work for themselves....

If anyone truly believes that the same exact things could not be said about the Democrats.... then they don't know a damned thing about American politics and I'm not sure I have the time to educate them.

George....I know some of those comments are overblown.

But I agree 100% that the Iraq war was contrived and has been a huge drain on our budget.

And while the economy may have been adjusting before W took office it absolutely tanked during his 8 years and I lost my job of 23 years before he left.

Hard for me not to be bitter.

Here is a stat for ya:

5.1 million jobs have been lost since the start of 2008.

    Count me in that group.

The problem with these kinds of job loss numbers is that a good number of them were like mine...high paying jobs that companies shed to save significant expense.

A lot of buying power was lost in these layoffs and that along with tight credit is what keeps the economy mired in mud.

My brother-in-law lost a high paying job at IBM and the President referred to it as 'the type of job America doesn't need'

I will search to find the audio file... but from your own previous topic there is this quote.
The townhall question about outsourcing had been asked because of the long standing rumor that IBM was going to outsource high paying jobs.

It's pretty apparent to me he is talking not about high paying IBM jobs or jobs like mine but rather those mediocre to low level slightly above minimum wage service jobs that you can't pay the bills with here in America anyway.

I don't know how people do it frankly.

I am looking at some opportunities that combined with my wife's income would approximate only about 60% of what we did combined before and that causes us all kinds of concern about how we are going to do it and how we have to watch it and the sad thing is the new total would be in the top 25% of working families in this country.

    I couldn't disagree more.

Going into the 'way back' machine, there were growing rumors of downsizing and outsourcing.. The #1 rumor at the time had to do with IBM. In fact, IBM was turning in early financial reports projecting profits this year...The Huffington Post even had an article about how the layoffs WEREN'T in the projection (they came one month later).

The reason, again, for the question about layoffs, and outsourcing was being asked then had everything to do with the IBM's rumored pending layoffs.

In his Obamaesque fashion, they 'redefine' everything while talking about nothing. They ARE talking about those jobs..

That dude who shot up the place in NY today was laid off from IBM recently... I guess he couldn't figure out another way either. Too bad he didn't do the right thing and just eat the gun.

Oh well, just another 'statistic' in the socialist machine........

Come on...you really deep down think that Obama is fine with good paying jobs being shipped out....that we don't need them?

My God man you had better jump the next ship and head somewhere else if you believe that.

"Rule One: Never allow a crisis to go to waste"

    -Rahm Emanuel

    Those are, exactly, his words.

The worse the crisis, the more people become insecure and look to lean on a greater power. We've seen this in both religion and politics. The people are chasing ghosts and searching for the truth. Neither side has fed it to them in so long, but you have one promising hope and light... and all you gotta do is sign over your freedoms.

You bet your ass I think he wants it. At least for the first year, I absolutely believe that.

The 'poor' are already dependent on the Federal govt due to 2 generations of bloated social welfare programs that has seen the government replace the church, the school and even the parent. Now we are seeing the real elimination of the middle class in America.

Who will they look to? If some sliver of hope can be fed to them before the midterms, you are looking at a straight 8 years of real class warfare.. And the only people getting rich will be the George Soros types.. who oddly wanted to bring this world to you.

And you will still blame Bush.

The very latest "Obamanation" A Daily Double.....

Today he apologizes to European countries for "American arrogance". Where did this guy come from and why is he our president?

Is he talking about the America that saved most of Europe in two world wars? Or is it the America that stood down the Soviet Union? Or perhaps the America that tore down the Berlin Wall?

He also found time to tell the US automakers that his administration is the only thing standing between them and the "pitchforked crowds". Of course he is the main architect of the hysteria.

I simply cannot believe the havoc this guy has created in just two and half months.
