Hard to argue with that kind of success. I think Miami may have a QB or 2 who could be put up for consideration using the criteria they used for some of those guys.
Classic example of why these lists are just crazy. I don't know who I would put as the top QB all-time, but as great as he was at Neb wouldn't have been a name that would have come to my mind. Of the "old timers" I wouldn't have come up with Sammy Baugh either. Why was Matt Leinart greater than say Steve Walsh? Nobody even remembers Steve Walsh I'll bet. Now if you had said who were the top 5 option QB's of all-time. Tommy Frazier would be a name I'd have put on my list.
Walsh had an incredible college career. He was a heady QB, who was incredibly accurate. If you remember the Cowboys used a #1 pick in the supplemental draft on him when they already had drafted Troy Aikman. Unfortuneately for Walsh that which made him such a great College QB was not enough to make him even a journeyman pro. Of course at this point in time Lienart is heading that direction, all-pro on the Phoenix party circuit, big with the college babes, etc.. nada on the field.
Interesting poll, as usual it seems whatever poll we read these days 75% of them seem to be who was popular lately. Tommie Frazier would be up there along with Tebow after the season is over but not while he is currently playing. There are just too many great ones over the last 100 years to put so many recent players at the top. Bob Griese, Montana and even cerebral Kenney Dorsey are way up there in my opinion but still too many QB's and history to be accurate. RC
