Well the Giants stopped the Royals streak....former Astro Hunter Pence was the hero. At the time the Astro's traded Pence, he was sad...but I'm guessing that given the Astro's fortunes since he left town I'd say he's pretty happy with the way things turned out.

Shoot why don't we just forgoe the regular season and have the Sox and the Yankee's play 7 games for the AL title every year. The other AL teams can play for the AAA championship! :)

It looks like the Dodgers may show Donnie Baseball the door and sign Joe Madden. What say you, JO'Co?

    :D

It's possible, but I don't think it will happen. Dodger Dogs like me would LOVE for it to happen. Joe Maddon is a familiar face around here. He was with the Angels for a long time and he's regarded as one of the best in MLB. I think it's more likely that the Angels might can Mike Scioscia and replace him with Maddon. If that were to happen, there would be an even louder howl from Dodger fans to replace Mattingly with Scioscia, who is the guy we wanted in the first place.

For now, Mattingly is still there and he's still winning......for now.

Giants on the verge...I wonder if anybody is watching outside the Bay Area and Kansas City?

I think Maddon is a magician with a small payroll . I wonder how he would do with a boatload of egos.

Winning it all with a ton of high priced talent is not as easy as you think.

It's shame if they're not - missing some really good baseball. Phenomenal pitching last night with a complete game shutout by SF's Bumgarner. Both teams scoring from getting the ball in play in the right location at the right time instead of HR's. SF's new kid, Panik, is apparently a model of baseball fundamentals. Don't see a lot of egos and antics - just everyone going about their business trying to help their teams win a championship.

I have watched two innings of Game Two. The problems include:

    Nobody knows anyone on KC
Nobody east of the Rockies sees much of the Giants all year
    Major competition from football

I haven't seen all of all 5 games but have seen most of them.

I hope the Royals take the next two games and win it all.

    Go Royals.

2 yrs ago SF wouldn't have made the playoffs. Combined these teams had the worst regular season records in WS history. I used to watch the series when the top teams played in it.

Good point, Bill. I can see why a person wouldn't watch because he didn't have interest in the teams, but I'm not sure why the records would matter. What if it was the Red Sox and Dodgers under the same circumstances (worst combined regular season records in MLB history)? Would Joel and JO'Co refuse to watch? Don't think so. What if it was the Tigers and Marlins? Would Gip and you refuse to watch? And so on......
