Jarrell and Bartlett Texas are under a tornado watch with a reported tornado touvhing down between the two towns. We have our eyes to the sky!

The real estate lady just left here about 3 hours ago. We listed the house to sell and move closer to Austin. Maybe the tornado will make part of the move for us!

We've been getting those kinds of storms for the last few weeks up here Tom. Keep your head down, and your vehicles in the garage.

Everyone on my street is getting a new roof, and big checks for their cars thanks to the hail we got. I'm TIRED of it.

Sorry you guys are getting some too!

It was like a wall was placed just north of Jarrell. The baseball sized hail and tornados that were moving south through Bell county took a left turn at the Williamson county line moving almost true East. Jarrell is already famous for two huge tornados in an 8 year span. The last one, a category 5 tornado, was on May 27, 1997 and killed 27 people… approximately 5% of the tiny community. The first one, a category 3, was on May 17, 1989 with much less tragic results.

Every time tornados are in the news, Jarrell residents are reminded of the tragedy of the past. Hopefully, now it will be known as the town with the tornado wall to the north that will protect it from future storms.

If you are interested, google “Jarrell Tornado” to find video and pictures of the monster funnel and the aftermath of the 1997 tornado.
