Wait, there is a ski resort in Ohio?

 

We have six of them...two are in my county;

Ohio Ski Resorts

They certainly aren't Killington or even Boyne Mountain, but they are good enough that a lot of kids around here become pretty accomplished skiers.

 

Is the snow in Ohio consistent enough to keep them open or do they have to rely on the snow making machines?

 

Snow making machines...but they do a great job. Snow Trails was one of the first to use snow making machine (only a nine year old technology when the resort opened.) I don't ski anymore but my friends say that despite the mild (very mild) winter, ski conditions have been excellent all year.
