Nope not a brush fire in California. But a new book by Nelson DeMille. Questions: 1. Do you think the Govt has a plan to react to a nuclear terrorist attack on an american city? 2. If they do, do you think that several nuculear strikes on Middle Eastern Cities such as Tehran and Damacus would be part of that plan? 3. If so then would it be the right response?
1. I do think that it's likely that there is a plan in place to respond to terrorist attack on an american city with Nukes. We'd be stupid not to have one. 2. I don't think it would contain retaliation against population centers in the middle east. I think if we have learned anything from the Iraq War, the Palestian situation, Gaza, etc. That is that the terrorist welcome death, they choose death via suicide bombers, they send young men and women with bombs strapped to them, the use children as shields. 3. I'm not sure what the right response would be, I'd be tempted to use conventional weapons to level the holy square in Mecca and to level the Dome of the Rock. In the end the only way we are going to really get revenge on the middle east to be able to stop buying oil from them because we have alternative fuels that are cheaper and/or more efficient. We need to get completely out of the middle east, to stop all trade with them make them like Cuban places that Americans can not go. Let them take over any american property in their countries and restrict all emigration from that area.
Energy independence is the key. Until we have that we will be in wars like this one. If we can attain independence then we can take a more isolationist stance in the world, strengthening our own borders, infrastructure and economy. We can concentrate on our own domestic problems and re-build our military. While we do these things the rest of the world can sort things out amongst themselves. Our absence will solidify our stature as the only superpower in the world.
