Today the Cubs went into the top of the 9th at home vs. the Dodgers with a 4-3 lead. By the time they got the third out, the Dodgers had scored 4 runs and had a 7-4 lead. Saito shut down the Cubs in the bottom of the 9th for the save.

Same old story. Relief pitching, specifically lack of a reliable closer. They're cooked. My money is on the Brewers. They may be young, but they have the late inning pitching to close out the close games. The Cards are making a valiant effort but in the end IMO their pitching and inconsistent hitting will be their downfall. Sorry A.J.

I think Sid may be right here, even though I think the Cubs have a better overall team than the Brewers. The Dodgers have made almost no comebacks this year like the one today. Nearly all of their wins have come when they had a lead after 6 innings. The difference is relief pitching, especially Saito who recorded his 37th save today. The Cubs really need to get someone like that...
