With such a wait in between these championship games and the end of the season it seems motivation or lack of is often a factor in the game outcomes.

That said I rank the 4 playoff teams thusly in the "hungry" factor:

    FSU - not that hungry
Bama - slightly hungry.... afraid of Saban
    Oregon - pretty hungry
Ohio State - extremely hungry with a chip on the shoulder

My predictions taking this in to account:

    Oregon 42-30 over FSU
    Ohio State 34-27 over Bama

    Ohio State 31-29 over Oregon

That is a factor in the lesser bowl games, but I doubt it's a factor in the playoffs. Each team has something to prove. Oregon has been on the cusp so many times in recent years and been derailed just when everybody was thinking they were unbeatable. Ohio State does have a lot of motivation and probably a chip from a season long diatribe by the press that the B1G isn't good enough and specifically that Ohio State wasn't good enough.

Alabama has Nick and the process driving it. FSU has been rumbling and stumbling through the season, tempting fate by getting behind in a lot of games but turning it on, they certainly have had tons of distractions. But maybe Winston being completely left out of the Heisman awards and all the negative press he and the team have gotten will put a chip on their shoulder as well.

In the end I'd put my money on Alabama.

Terry I agree it's not so much about who is not motivated but more about who may be overconfident or who has the biggest chip.

I see Ohio State as having the biggest chip this year and so do you.

I like Meyer when he has a team that he can motivate in such a way.

After the ferocious way that the Buckeyes dismantled Wisconsin and made their playoff statement I am sincerely impressed.

I am still handicapping Ohio State v Alabama but I am ready to commit on Oregon v FSU.

    Oregon- 45

    FSU - 24

If Oregon can play defense, this one will be a laugher.

    Sorry about that Don....

George.... I think Oregon vs. FSU will be a laugher.... say 42-13 until ten minutes to go when the noles desperately try to get back in it..... but come up short.
