The Skybox Conference finals. Graham Harrell led my team all season but was not available for the finals yesterday. I had picked up Juice Williams and what I thought was a nice replacement. But I saw that he was playing Ohio State this weekend who no doubt had revenge on their mind for Illinois. In looking at possible other QB's Nebraska's Joe Ganz seemed to be coming on strong. I gambled on him and he scored 41 needed points for me yesterday as the Gators beat Buckeye T 139 - 127. Since Juice had 20 or so points I would have lost with him but Ganz saved the day. Thanks Huskerman and Nebraska.
Congrats Bill, Ganz was my QB early in the season during the Neb non-conf schedule and Colt McCoy was his backup. He scored very well for me. I let him go after Neb got into the meat of their season as I figured his productivity would go down and clearly McCoy was a QB on the rise. Comming from where you started the season, this was really a great run to the Championship. Terry
Thanks Terry. I looked at Ganz and he seemed to be pretty hot late and I took a chance with him and it paid off. I enjoyed this and hope we do it again next season.
Congrats Bill.....as we speculated during the week, it all came down to the replacement QB's. I liked the Kansas kid - he's a great player - and after what I've been reading all year about Big 12 defenses, I figured Reesing to be a lock to put up big numbers over the porous Longhorn D.....they shut him down completely.....go figure that one. Great job Bill.....
Thanks Terry. I was pretty well sit to go with Juice but going against your Buckeyes changed my mind. Ganz had his best day of the season and if he hadn't I would have lost. My team did very well, but my whole receiving core, including the one on the bench, had off days and I thought that might cost me. This was fun and you sure had a good year. I hope we can do this agains next year in the same format.
Last year they dropped 70 points on them, so it was a good chance Ganz would do well again. He was selected as the B12 Offensive Player of the Week. Oh yeah, your welcome Bill. p.s. Friday the 28th = Home game against a struggling CU team. NU wins this, they go 8-4 and a possible Jan 1st Bowl game.
