My son always says he'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. That's why their guns have no safeties.

George, that is the exact reason I carry any firearm. What handgun does his department carry?

Sig Sauer P228 .40 Benelli M1 shotgun with both buckshot and armor piercing loads are the official weapons.. He also carries a Glock .40 backup.

May have learned something new here. I thought that the P228 was a 9mm only handgun. The P228 M11 is the choice of the military and many law enforcement agencies and it is 9mm.

You have taught an old dog (bue tick hound not bulldog) a new trick! I also didn't know that they were made without safeties. Now Glock is known for no "manual" safeties. They have the back strap palm safety and the trigger safety that are automatically defeated by gripping the gun and pressing the center bar on the trigger. I would guess since it is a backup gun that it is the smallest glock 40, the G27 which was designed for concealed carry.

The Sig will accommodate SW .40 ammo. Can't comment on the safety but they do not have them.
