After being dominated in the first half Alabama moves to a true freshman QB and comes back to win in OT.

Both teams played well enough to win and it was an enjoyable game to watch.

    Congratulations KP.

    Great win KP!
Poor Georgia, of course they lose in very 'Georgia' fashion with a total heart breaker.

    Fantastic NC game though.

Am I the only one who thinks that the Bama QB who won the game makes Bama even more dangerous with his dual threat?

No Bill, he is a winner and I too think Alabama will be a force to reckon with for the next few years. Saban continually recruits well and currently sets the bar for college coaches. I pity his replacement when the time arrives.

Bill, I have been saying all along that Hurts makes Alabama one dimensional. He is only a fair passer, he can't read pass coverage very well and he is a talented runner but he calls his own number too often. Alabama has 4 or 5 very good running backs, we don't need another runner, we need a good passer who can get the ball to open receivers and a good scrambler who can run when needed. Hurts has regressed in the passing department. I'm not sure why. Tua Tag was able to do those things last night. :D

You talking about Feliepe Franks? LOL

Actually.... I am so used to watching replays and picking out open receivers that were missed on ugly sacks for huge losses by UF's Franks that when Tua incurred that huge loss on a sack I was watching the replay and noticed a receiver on the left side streaking down the sideline area who was open for a TD.

I said to my son they were going right back to the same play to see if they could hit it and damned if that wasn't what they did.

Congrats to KP and the Tide on an exciting win last night. The Bama defense was so good in the second half, I thought Hurts had changed uniforms. :)

The thing that gets me about Tua last night is that they made it seem like he's not played at all. He's played in 8 games for Alabama this year.

    Fresno State
    Colorado State
    Vanderbilt
    Ole Miss
    Texas A&M
    Arkansas
    Tennessee
    Mercer

Corey, he did play but always when the game was put away. Hurts was healthy all year so there wasn't a need for him. He did get to play with the ones a couple of times when the game was put away very early.

That's still a far cry from the narrative of the legend being born in the media. In the big picture, these things don't matter. It's just, it's been driving me crazy to listen to these folks in the media talk about his play like he was just handing it off. The offense was still wide open, perhaps even more so, when he was in the game.

And kudos to Saban for getting him that action. Some of those games weren't that far out of reach when they put in Tua.
