....I'm here to tell all you Cubs fans that life as you know it is about to cease....you might as well just start drinking now and reminisce about lost opportunities, or just blame Bartman again....but whatever it is, enjoy it....because starting at 1320 hrs today in the 35,000 seat Urinal, your ass belongs to the Cards.....
 re: Cubs/Cards Bean-ball wars ... angry people sliding in cleats high...furious press conferences... screaming at umpires out of the dugout... We Dodgers and Giants fans are shocked at this immature behavior!
Well......Cubs took 2 outa 3......not bad.......one (1) week left though.......1,2,3 best records in all of MLB are in the NLC.....pretty impressive....... Now here's pressure for ya Mr. Baker.....Cubs gotta catch the Bucs to get HFA for that one game playoff......Cards got this locked up.....it will be fun to watch though.... Oh.....I almost forgot....TO HELL WITH THE CUBS!!....And I'll take Busch over OldStyle anyday!
AJ, I am happy with the season as it stands today. If the Cubs lose the play-in game, I'll still be happy because I know they have the roster and the manager to be competitive well beyond this season. Yes, it would be nice to overtake the Pirates for HFA, but I'm OK if we have to play in Pittsburgh. Jake Arrietta has bolted into the lead for NL CY Young with last night's complete game 3-hit shutout. Oh yes. It was his 20th win.
Cubs/Pirates winner gets one more shot at the Cardinals. Wouldn't have been that way a few years ago, the winner would have played the Dodgers.
Re: Cy Young I listened to a conversation TV last night during the Dodgers-D'backs game about the CY Young. I wasn't aware just how phenomenal the seasons have been for all 3 NL candidates, Arrietta, Greinke, and Kershaw. I need to walk back my comment above about Arrietta being the clear leader. All 3 are having spectacular seasons, and a strong case can be made for each one. I love this game.
Thanks, AJ. I once lived there as a young'un. That's why the Cards are one of my favorite teams. However, this year, I'm rooting for my Cubs as long as they're in it. If St. Louis is the end of the road, so be it. It's already been a great year.
