    Cal got its revenge on Tennessee and the SEC today. Wow! Are the Golden Bears fast or what? They have a ton of weapons!

    I had to turn the sound off, because of Brent "the cheerleader" Musberger who actually switched from calling the SEC the "best conference", to calling the Pac10 a "better conference than the SEC this year" during the game. What an idiot. One game doesn't prove anything about conferences and both the SEC and Pac10 are very good and very fast...

    BTW- this game did prove that Les Miles of LSU is an idiot...but then we already knew that...

    California 45
    Tennessee 31

    As the clock wound down, jubilant Cal fans, many carrying signs that said, "SEC'ya!" chanted "Pac-10 football!" "Pac-10 football!"

    I said on these boards that I was not confident of a win. I stated the revenge factor combined with the injuries and the suspension. The suspension probably was not a factor. Foster and Hardesty did a great job. Another factor developed the whole 4th quarter. We had been pounding the ball on the ground with success. As soon as the 4th quarter started, we abandoned the run. Two drives were ended by three straight incomplete passes and a punt on 4th and 10.

    Congrats to Cal. They should go far this year.

    I think Tenn's underneath passing game and running game will give that young Florida defense some real fits.

    I just hope Florida's offense can outscore Tenn and I think that is very possible.

    I see the UF-UT game as something like Fla 38 Tenn 27

    Cal did indeed have speed but as far as the conference comparison I think Cal looks like it belongs of the top 2 in the Pac10 and I do not believe that Tenn is in the top 4 of the SEC right now. Maybe an outside chance of being #4.....maybe.

    By yesterday's performances, what 4 teams in the SEC rank higher than Tennessee in your opinion?

    There is no way to determine where Tennessee is ranked in the SEC right now. Most teams played roll over patsies this week. Most rolled over... One did not! Tennessee was the only top 25 team to play an opponent ranked in the top 25.

    How could you make such a bold statement? We played, ON THE ROAD, 2000+ MILES AWAY FROM HOME and give a team ranked above us all they wanted (7 points down with 4 minutes left in the game).

    Next week, we play at home. The next week we are in Gainesville. Then we can determine better where we belong in the SEC rankings.

    So true....

    Nobody knows for sure but I watched LSU's defense look like world beaters. Georgia surprised me with the ease in which they beat OKSt and Florida's offense looks like it will be terrirfic because as I knew all along...Tim Tebow can really throw the football and his receivers are world class.

    After that it's a tie for 4th IMHO with Tenn right in the mix.

    Granted this analysis is very subject to change as we get into the SEC schedule and I do not think Tenn will be an easy out for UF.

    I say get some chainsaws and get those hippies out of the Tree's!!

    Other than that I thought it was a great game and like Tom I was surprised that Tenn gave up on the running game in the 4th quarter. Cal looked to be on their heels for awhile there. But it was the best game I saw yesterday and Tenn looks like they will be very tough this year.

    I thought both teams looked very good and Erik Ainge is now a prime time QB, which opens up everything they do, because he correctly reads defenses now...

    Cal is picked by most experts out here to finish 3rd in the Pac-10, but as you saw, they are very tough at Strawberry Canyon. They get USC at home...

    Note to Les Miles, who has made every bulletin board and outhouse wall in the West: Tennessee's all-time record in the Pacific Time Zone is now 3-9-1. The Vols all-time record in games played in the State of California is now 2-7-1. Tennessee is a class act that has no fear to travel here. We want LSU and some of the other SEC squirrels to come out of hiding and visit us...

    <t>can really outcoach himself at times. UT was selling the house to stop the run and Tedford decided to stick to try to run... Why? As soon as UT made it close, he opened the offense back up and pulled away easy.<br/>
    <br/>
    And what about the fumble on the goalline? UT's player is hurt, their heart ripped out, your TB is now ripping off about 7 yards a carry and you go for a quick snap qb sneak on 3rd and goal?? Sweet Jesus..<br/>
    <br/>
    There's not many WRs in college football who can start at Cal. Where they are strong, they are incredible. Where they are average, they are quite average. It appears that, perhaps, for the first time in a while, Cal has a better team than coach.<br/>
    <br/>
    I watched that LSU team.... Its a shame they dont schedule more aggressively</t>

    W/O that fumble and stupid playcalling at the one foot line Cal hangs 52 points on Tenn.
