Weis doing the Gator Chomp!

ESPN just reported that Chollie is going to be the new OC under Muschamp at Florida.

I do like that......a lot.

Interesting move by Charlie Weis to go to the Gators....

 

It's a huge shock to me, I would have thought that Weis had had enough of college football. I have to wonder if the Chiefs got Charlie relatively cheap and given the success Charlie has had this year if Charlie is doing what he did to ND during his first year...rolling them for a big contract.

But I will say that Weis is clearly a top OCoord, and he is a tireless recruiter that would do an excellent job bringing talent to Fla, esp being freed from the academic, social, weather, distance, etc issues he faced recruiting for ND. Weis would give UF entree to pretty much the entire country when it comes to offensive skill position talent.

 

So if KC doesn't give Charlie a raise and extention are they stupid

 

So you think Charlie and his agent would pull that on KC? Just like they did on ND in the middle of his first season?....Nah...not Chollie.

 

Charlie asked for the extension because dastardly recruiters from other schools were claiming he was going back to the NFL. ND believed he was a wanted property. Guess he is.

 

Chollie might be a lot of things but when it comes to the money side he knows how to look out for himself.

 

without any doubt in my mind, the best offensive mind in the game on any level.

if Florida gets him, they will have a staff second to none in the SEC or really anywhere.

 

It was 77 and sunny today here in the Bay area.........a beautiful summer like day.

After freezing his ass off in Boston, South Bend and K City who could blame an aging coach like Weis for wanting to make Gainesville his last stand before retirement.

He must think WM is in at Florida for several years at least before any move would be made elsewhere.

A coach like Weis could help to ensure that Muschamp won't be asked to leave any time soon.

 

Wow, I'm gone all afternoon and come home to the Gators beat Xavier at their home and we may get Charlie Weiss as as or OC. Wow.

 

Xavier had the nation's second longest home winning streak.....30 wins.

Between this win, K-State and FSU.... UF BB looks pretty good for the NCAA tourney this year.

I read someplace that he doesn't like working for Todd Haley, that Haley meddles with his offense and he wants out and he wants full control of the offense.

It makes sense because Muschamp has said he wants a pro-style offense.

 

I really don't get it myself. I never would have thought we'd see Charlie back in college football, ever.
