    1. Well I'm still pumped over the Texas/Missouri game. Right now Texas is clicking on all cyclinders, Greg Davis is a savant OCoord. Will Muschamp is a lighting rod of a DCoord. Mack is an elite CEO coach, pulling all the right strings. I keep thinking that if Texas runs the table and Colt wins the Heisman their will be a new QB in the hearts and minds of Texas fans, VY might slip to #2. Colt having the passing stats he's having and being the leading rusher on the team, being almost 80% of the offense, if that continues will give him a season to rival the 2005 season of VY. Toss in the Heisman and another big if a NC then he could eclipse VY. But of course there is a lot of football to be played.

    2. That explosion in East Lansing and the big comeback in Happy Valley surely sets up the game of the year in the B10. The Shoe is going to be rocking.

    3. No real changes in the pecking order this week, all the teams you expect to be in the race got wins, some more impressive than others but at this point in the season it's nearly fatal to lose. So close wins help you maintain your spot.

    4. Is Wazzu the worst team in the BCS football conferences? It would seem so, I mean how many other teams are asking for walkons at QB and holding tryouts. I've heard of this when teams are looking for a kicker but never a QB. That beat down USC just applied probably could have been 100 if one of the old Univ of Houston coaches had been at the helm.

    5. We've certainly discussed SEC officiating many times around here with all the SEC guys having complaints of one type or another. But have you ever seen a SEC offical take such direct action to influence a play???

    6. Heisman Race: Clearly Colt is in the lead but as I said a lot of football is still to be played, but he's generated that same level of excitement around him that Tim Tebow had last year and right now it's his to lose. I'd say that Ringer is now out, Chase Daniel is now out. Beanie Wells has a big stage next week in Columbus but he may share it with his freshman QB teamate. Tim Tebow if the Gators continue their play like they did against LSU certainly could jump back into it, as could Sam Bradford, Mark Sanchez, I think Max Hall is done.

    7. The Tyrone Williingham death watch. I saw some of the OSU/UW game this weekend and I couldn't believe that the annoucers were pleading Ty's case. I saw someplace that John Saunders said something to the effect that it wasn't fair, but I didn't hear him say that. Brian Hamilton a Chicago Tribune writer wrote a column on him today and couldn't help himself (he hates ND) from obliquely blaming ND for Ty's problems.

    8. What's up with Maryland, they stoned Wake Forrest. Is this sort of like a salary drive in Pro sports for the Fridge?

    9. Speaking of Wake, have they returned to reality finally?

    10. Same for Vandy, they might have a hard time getting more than 7 wins I could easily see them finishing 2-3. Still a good year.

    11. Alabama, they just seem to have the juice when they need it. Heavily favored vs Ole Miss so it was a closer than it should be game. But so far when Saban has needed to crank it up he's cranked it up. That's one thing a college coach has to learn, how to manage the emotions of the team. You can't be sky high for every game, so you have to try and manage that, result is some sluggish performances sometimes vs lesser teams but you have that emotion banked for the big games. At least that's the theory.

    12. I know nobody cares, but the Rice Owls are quietly having a very good season in CUSA. I hope they can continue.

    13. BCS busters. I guess it's Utah and Boise State, I'll give the edge to Boise State since Utah has TCU and a season finale with BYU on the slate.

You should have seen the "horse collar" called on LSU.

The defender grabbed the RB by the back of the jersey around the top middle of his back. It was nowhere near a horse collar.

Well that's a blown call, this was an overt act by the ref....unless of course he tripped on the turf at the exact wrong moment! :)

    Terry,
Texas looks very tough, USC is trying to score its way out of a loss, and Alabama is voting to shorten games by eliminating the second half.

Hey, I'll go with shortening games to one half! We'd have taken the Dirtmonkeys if that was the case!
    8)

Tough to argue against Texas right now... (My life truly is an acid-bath!)

Greg Davis - savant?? Well... I'll concede the engine is running very well, but I don't think I'd go that far!
    :p

While watching the games this week (I have no commentary for Terry's analysis because I thought it was spot on).. I had a beef with CBS getting on USC for 'running it up.'

This network, like ESPN, has been all about people piling on because 'that is what the system calls for' but when USC plays a hapless team like Wazzu then they call them out?!? Crap...

I know for a fact due to my alumni network mailings that my old HS had 2 kids get the 'call up' to the travel squad for this game... and they both played. How bad is Wazzu now, when USC is taking multiple Rudy-type stories on the travel squad with intentions on playing them?!? What else can you do then?

I heard that Petie was playing some players who's parents actually bought the houses that they were living in. :D
