I didn't watch as much college football as I usually do this past weekend due to being glued to the Ryder Cup on Sat. But I didn't catch some parts of games.

    1. W.Va. vs Baylor. This was an incredibile offensive showcase worthy of the old Pac10 shootouts I used to see on Fox late games in the 90's. Defense? Don't bother, leave it at home! :) Geno Smith the W.Va QB really took the lead in the Heisman race with this game. Of course he could drop back with a bad game vs the Longhorns this weekend. Right now though W.Va. looks to be one of the best b12 teams.

    2. Ohio State vs Mich State. Just from reading the post game and looking at the Stats you have to wonder why people were so high on Mich State before the season. They did lose quite a bit off of last years great team. They certainly can still have a very good season of course but unless they can get something going on offense it's going to be a 4 or 5 loss season min. Ohio State on the other hand looks like a team on the rise, Braxton Miller getting better each week and with the BIG being down this year there isn't an opponent left on their schedule who they can't beat.

    3. Neb vs Wisc. I did see the last part of this game after the Texas/OSU game. Neb looked fresh and fired up while I watched them. Wisconsin (as Sid noted in another topic) is definitely not the Whisky of the last few years. Huskers vs Ohio State match probably the 2 best B1G teams. Should be a great game. I'm still not a believer in Taylor Martinez though. I still feel like he's a turnover waiting to happen.

    4. Texas vs Ok State . Great game if you watched it. The Cowboys have a great RB in that #1 kid and their 2nd string QB who played because the 1st stringer was injured had a heck of a game. Great prep for the Longhorns with W.VA coming to Austin essentially running the same offense but with an AA QB.

    5. LSU vs? What the heck happened there? They didn't cover and the ? team scored what 21 pts on supposedly the 2nd best defense in the country. Maybe they were looking ahead to the Gators.

    6. Miami vs NC State. Miami QB picks the weekend to throw for a kazzillion yards at the same time the Baylor/WVa QB's throw for 2 Kazillion yards..so he gets little notice. Hurricanes have recovered nicely from the beat down they endured at Kansas State.

    7. Middle Tenn vs Ga. Tech. This has to be the most embarassing loss in the career of Paul Johnson. I thought Ga.Tech would be one of the better ACC teams but they are looking like they will not make .500

    8. Va. Tech vs Cincy. What has happened to Va.Tech they again were thought of as being one of the better ACC teams and now have lost a couple of games I'll bet they had marked as W's on the schedule.

    9. Texas A&M vs Ark. Ark looks to me like they have quit. I feel bad for those guys, their coach screwed up royally and in a very selfish manner and has left them hanging out to dry. No disrespect to A&M, their QB "Johnny F'n Football" looks to be developing very well and has a bright future. I wonder what the Ark AD will do, John L. Smith is a total failure and a nutjob, but they are stuck with him for the rest of the season. What ever momentum they had in recruiting has to have melted away at this point.

    10. Penn State vs Illinois. Another win for Bill O'Brien. I was surprised, long way to go but the Nits seem to be hanging in there and giving it their all.

    11. Boise State vs New Mexico. Only reason I even put this in here is Bob Davie is the UNM coach. This game was closer than I thought. Maybe Boise just isn't that good this year or maybe Davie is doing a good job taking over a terrible program.

I am hoping that LSU doesn't get off the top of this "whose not hot" list by the weekend:

    http://cfn.scout.com/2/1226554.html

I am not certain either way.... they could just be waiting for something exciting... and playing the top ten ranked Gators in the rowdy Swamp this Saturday will be pretty damned exciting I would imagine.

    Otherwise.....

Ohio State won the game...... and Meyer won his first rivalry type game which is no surprise.

Texas A&M has some real SEC potential... they'll beat somebody this season they aren't supposed to.

Illinois is pathetic and thinking the Zooker wasn't half bad.

Texas looks pretty good this season and Nebraska - OSU ahould be a great game I believe.

    Re Boise
Recall that they opened the season losing to MSU. Looking back, that was an indication that they aren't very good this year.

    1. "We don't need no stinking Defense!" It looked like both teams agreed to play 12 players on offense and only 10 players on defense. How bad is the Big 12 if West Virginia can come from mid-pack of their conference to jump "up" in competition to win their new conference in the first year? When you said the conference was improving competition, I thought you meant TCU.

    2. OSU looks vulnerable, but not a lot left on the schedule to take advantage. MSU is killing itself every week.

    5. Can we take LSU out of the Top 5 yet? Of course, if they beat Florida by two points, they'll be right back to #2 in the country, right? At the beginning of the year I thought LSU was going to be a freak defensively. So far they've not been.

    6. Every time I start thinking Miami is really good, I question how good KSU really is. Miami can rise as long as KSU keeps winning.

    11. BSU doesn't have the same spark plug at QB anymore. They are a legitimately decent team, but no game is a gimme this year.

    12. GO COUGS!

Not only did Boise graduate Kellen Moore, but for the 2nd year in a row they lost their OCoord. Harsin to Texas after 2010 season and what's his name to the Gators after last season.

    edit: Go Cougs! :)

13: My how the mighty have fallen for Middle Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech to be mentioned and Tennessee vs Georgia, not even a back page story.

I need to see Georgia play a few more games. Is there defense that bad (we know Tennessee's is) or is the Tennessee offense beginning to gel? 95 points scored between the two teams and Tennessee was within a TD and driving with two minutes left in the game in Georgia's back yard. It gives me hope that at least the offense is coming around. The defense showed signs of life forcing two fumbles and intercepting a pass but our tackling sux!

That was an incredible Sat for offensive football. W. Virginia seems to be the real thing offensively. Defensively, I don't see how they win all their games if they can't stop the other team from scoring.

That game, Georgia and Tennesse and OSU and Texas all it it up.

Speaking of Texas, it sure looked to me like that may have been a fumble before going in that OSU recovered. No matter though the win is in the books.

We will be going to our first Gator game this weekend. A fast trip down to Kissimmee and our daughters house on Friday, to the LSU game on Sat and back home on Sunday.

However we will be going to three more, S. Carolina Oct 20, Jeanne's birthday, Georgia on Oct 27 and Mizzou on Nov 3. We are just going to stay in Florida for the 2+ weeks and see all three games splitting the time between our daughters in Kissimmee and Jacksonville.

    We are looking forward.
