    Is it too early? :)

    Some good games.

Thurs Night Clemson vs Ga. Tech. I doubt if Tech will put up much resistance, but you never know. Also I keep wondering when Paul Johnson will wear out his welcome at Tech. They were supposed to be really good last year but weren't and I don't know if they will be good this year. Could it be that the ACC has now seen his triple option enough that the players and coaches know how to defend it? That's always been the advantage the service academy's have had, their opponents don't see it that much so they have a hard time defending it.

Fri Night USC at Utah. This is sort of a do or die moment for the Trojans it would seem. On the road, at altitude against a pretty good Ute team.

    Sat Games

Georgia at Ole Miss. UGA hasn't looked all that great so far even though they are #12 and undefeated. I'll be interested in Scotts eval of them being the #12 team in the country. :) Ole Miss needs this win very badly and if they can score 43 points on Alabama they can score on UGA, and if they don't cough up the ball like they did vs Alabama they should win even though they are the #23 team! :)

Wisc at Mich State....teams that like to slug it out. Wisc coming off a nearly embarrassing loss to a FCS team and Mich State coming off a big road win at South Bend. Big game for both teams.

Fla at Tenn. This game is huge for both teams, for Tenn the string of losses to the Gators is no doubt getting tiresome and it's an important step to winning the SEC East for either team. But mentally the Vols need to get over the hump and beat the Gators.

Duke at ND ...Irish need a big win desperately, and Duke is the kind of opponent that we could get that big win. Now I don't mean to imply the big win will be because Duke is a top rated opponent. No by big I mean 50+points and a defensive effort that shows some improvement. By big I mean our OL finally looking like we thought it should and a running game that looks dominant. Anything less just increases the angst/anger of ND fans.

Penn State at Mich...I haven't really followed Penn State so I don't really know what kind of team they have, but I expect that Michigan will beat them handily.

Kent State at Alabama...I feel bad for the Kent State players.

LSU at Auburn. I saw where Auburn has lost 8 straight home games to SEC foes...make that 9 and if that's how it ends up the Auburn coach might need to start touching up his resume. Auburn isn't shy about getting rid of coaches.

Neb at Northwestern. A big road trip for a certain Husker fan. Given that Chicago has a murder problem, I'll pray for his safe return and that the only murder is the Huskers of Northwestern!

Ark vs A&M ...at Jerry World. The SEC game of the week after UF/Tenn. Hogs are undefeated, A&M is undefeated. I saw a 30 for 30 on the Chief Hog, he's not really likeable at least to me. He came off as a big fat ego maniac who is full of himself. Hope the Ag's take him down a notch.

Stanford at UCLA ...like their cross town rivals another loss for UCLA would not be good. Stanford though just seems so well coached and able to control games.

A lot of other games involving ranked teams vs unranked teams. Washington vs Arizona, Baylor vs OK State which are important games in their conferences

Anybody notice that Army is undefeated and beat UTEP worse than Texas beat them last week. Navy and Air Force also all undefeated.

Paul Johnson has had an up and down record at Tech. They've had a losing record. They've had a 500 record, even though they won the Coastal Division that year. Just in 2014, they went 11-3 and won the Coast Region and smashed Miss State in their bowl game.

I think he's won the ACC or had 10+ win seasons twice snice arriving there.

    Terry! :D

Actually... Scott's rankings right now go like this:

    1) Bama... they are so freakishly deep, and the more experience that QB gets, the better they will get.

2a) OSU. That damned Urban... seems to be able to cobble a great team out of a lineup of kids he's never seen.

2b) Louisville - They have come a long way from the team A&M should have beaten in the bowl last year. They look legit so far. If that QB goes down... all bets are off.

After that I think everyone is still figuring out who they are.
A&M at 10 is probably a little premature but with our defense we should be in every game.

Now that conference play is getting going full speed, we should see some better definition of who's a contender and who's not.

And thanks for taking the time to throw these up each week. I like to respond, but don't have the patience to make the list up from scratch!

    8)

Re: LSU. Last week I observed that Danny Etlinger was a so-so QB at Purdue. Apparently, he did well for LSU last week. I guess it makes a difference to have a solid O-line in front to give you time to throw the ball.

I want to personally thank Scott!!!!! There is a guy that I trained when he first started at Applied Materials back in 2002. He has been wouking for the business unit in Santa Clara ever since. He just joined our training organization today. He is one of the biggest Auburn fans I know. I welcomed him to the group by giving him my condolences on his loss to aTm...

Dang it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just saw that the Florida QB has a pretty bad leg injury from this past game. I am in no way predicting a win this week but I want to Gators at 110% when we actually do get around to beating them.

I will be doing a Charity car show during our game but I will have directtv tuned in on my iPhone 6 plus watching the game!!!

On another note, some of you may have seen on facebook that I am not getting around very well right now. I have a doctor's appointment Wednesday to see what needs to be done but it appears that I have, at some time in the past, broken my L1 vertebra. It healed in an awkward way which has caused two of my discs to degenerate. The ER doctor thinks this explains why I have to use my right arm to assist pulling my leg up to rest my right foot on the highway peg when riding my Harley. I have been taken off the bike until we know the extent of the damage and what it will take to fix it.

Good luck with that back Tom.

I hope your Vols give you comfort and entertainment the rest of the season after this weekend...

With regard to Luke Del Rio..... the SEC East standings will not have an asterisk so all the marbles are still there in every way for both sides.

The ironic thing about the Florida QB going down is that it now looks like Appleby will get the start.

Two former Purdue QB's in a big game who left Purdue because they lost the starting jobs.

Lack of O Line? Lack of coaching? Lack of what?

Ettling had a good game for LSU last week but he's not necessarily proven yet. They both had flashes of real ability at Purdue and I do wish them well.

Tom did you go out to the Circuit of the America's this last week? My brother bought some package for around 130$ that got him VIP access and he got to drive his Corvette on the track. Said it's really a 1st class facility and he had a great time. Said it was a better facility for the fans than Daytona.

Tom, sorry to hear about your spinal problem. Good luck getting the right diagnosis and getting it fixed so you can get back on your bike and do other things comfortably.

We normally perform lousy after byes but this one came at a great time for us as we need to heal up a little. Besides it turned into a major recruiting week for us with the extra time from what I'm reading...

I was not at CoTA last weekend. I have been on that track several times. I've done parade laps and hot laps. It is a 1st class facility. During the hot laps, I was putting so much pressure on a Porsche 911 that he spun out in turn 15. That was FUN!!!!

The Aggies vs Pigs should be interesting, but I suspect their offense isn't as good as it has been, and our defense is MUCH better than it was last year.
If we can stay away from the turnovers, I think we'll cover.

The backup QB Gators are starting is a Senior transfer from Purdue who started a number of games for them. He has thrown a lot of interceptions for the Boilermakers but I am not sure just how much that means for Sat.

Some Gator fans thought he would win the starting job when he came to Florida.

I don't know what to expect.

Tom, hang in there and we hope you get back to the motorcycle very soon.

Wow.... a 13 point win by Tenn would surprise me a lot because this is an elite defense for UF that will be playing with all cylinders firing and the UF offense even without Del Rio is much better at RB, OL and WR/TE than they were at the end of last season with Treon Harris at QB and injuries at the other positions.

I see the game in the 4th quarter as 17-13..... with that score either remaining the final or with the team behind scoring a late TD and winning 20-17.

I just don't see which team is which.... so in either case I would be taking the 7.5 points.
