has anyone else seen this movie? I laughed through it pretty hard, but was shocked to find out it was based on a true story. So, I read the book. (which is more realistic than the movie). The premise is, how did two stoner kids aged 18 and 23, become arms dealers let alone arms dealers on the verge of defrauding the US Government on a 300 million dollar contract? The movie is a favorite of my friends on the left. What I guess no one stopped to consider, even the makers of the movie, is what created all of this was the fallout of the Halliburton scandal during the start of the Gulf War. Bush made it mandatory that a certain number of contracts must be awarded to small businesses... and these guys become millionaires until they went to jail. It's an interesting watch. It's a better read.
Interesting. Looked like just another stupid movie for those guys so I never gave it a sniff. Sounds like the book might be interesting. Thx for the hint.
