Great finish. It doesn't have to be pretty. Survive and move on. That's the name of the game.

Survive is the operative word! I fully expected Tennessee to win this game but I wouldn't have wagered a bottle of Coke on it. I watched some of the game on Sportsline Live Video while monitoring my students in the lab.

It is not that Winthrop is that good. The game was close because Tennessee is still in a slump. My bracket has us beating Wichita State in the next round. If we play like we did today, that will not happen.

One whale of a finish, but a close game all the way.

I had picked Winthrop in this one.

The two times the Gators advanced to the final four they survied big time scares in one of the two first round games. One time Miller hit a basket at the buzzer to win by one point. That was a second round game and the year we advanced to the final game.

Sometimes it's good to get this type game out of your system.

I heard an interesting analysis of the Gators/South Alabama game by the Samford Head Coach on the Fienbaum Radio Show. He said that since South Alabama ran the Fla system (Coach was asst under Donavan) that it was a terrible matchup for them. He said that in these types of game the small school has the best chance if they play a style that the big school is not used to seeing. In this case they ran the system that the Gators are most used to..their own. But they ran it with Samford level talent not Fla level talent.
