a.k.a. Alice Cooper.....he opened for Motley Crue in Omaha last night.....the guy is 66 years young and still puts on a hell of a show......14 foot Frankensteins and guillotines included.... It's gotta be all the Golf right Doc?
He was a guest last Saturday morning on ESPN game day. He's a cool guy and a very knowledgeable sports fan.
1973. Cincinnati Gardens. Alice Cooper opening for Humble Pie. I was there with my mullet, Fu Manchu and bib overalls. Stylin' and profilin'.
George, can't quite picture you in a mullet and Fu Manchu, but then again, we all had "the look" consistent with the times when we were young.
When I was coaching, my pitching coach, Bob Brown, used to be Alice Cooper's road manager. He ended up in Los Angeles in the early '70's when the last stop on the tour was at the Forum in Inglewood. He just never got back on the plane and stayed here. Bob had some great stories about the band tossing TV sets in hotel swimming pools at 3: AM etc. His kids found out about his previous life when they were at home watching the movie Bill and Ted's Great Adventure." When Alice came on as himself, Bob said, "Hey...it's my boss!" Then he showed the kids some old pictures of himself, with Alice, and they looked identical: hair, makeup, everything... BTW- Bob is currently living a second childhood and some of you might be able to see him. He's the sound-mixer on the Blues Brothers tour and he's invading hotels again and having a great time...
